Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy Most Outstanding Player: East Division Until 1993 the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy was presented to the Most Outstanding Player in the Eastern Division. It was originally donated in 1928 to commemorate an outstanding Montreal player who was killed in 1926 while repairing lines for the Montreal Power Company.
