In Stratton's History of the town of Alburgh the author notes that in Land and Misc. Records, Book #6 of Alburgh, VT Josiah BOHANNON & wife & family were summoned to Depart the Town of Alburgh on 20 January 1817. - The record was the Town officials' legal way of warning transient people (people who had not lived there more than a year) to move on so that they did not become an economic burden to the town.
