"Gehazi GRANGER located one hundred and fifty two acres of lot 96, original surveys; to earn the money to make payment he worked in the Littleville mills, owned by Zacariah SEYMOUR. At the end of six years he had paid for his land. He built his first house about fifteen rods east of the Shaving street schoolhouse, which stands on the corner of the original purchase. The farm is yet held by Julius N. GRANGER, Esq., who was married to Sarah Ann DOUGLAS, of Brandon, Vermont. Mrs. GRANGER was sister to Hon. Stephen A. DOUGLAS, a man esteemed by the American people and well-nigh made their president."
