Per Burke's American Families Landed Gentry: "William Wilbor (Windbore) settled at Little Compton, R. I., 1654, layter removing to Tiverton, R. I., b. 1630; d. 1710, having by Martha, ihs wife, has with other issue, a fourth son and three daus."
Per History of Rhode Island: "On June 10, 1654, he received a dee of ten acres from Samuel Wildbore, then of Taunton. On December 10, 1657, he was granted eight acres. On June 7, 1671, he served as juryman. In 1678, William Wilbor represented the town of Porsmouth in the Rhode Island General Assembly. He owned property in Portsmouth, Little Compton, Swansea, and in Kings Town, the greater part of whish he disposed of by deed to his sons before his death."

His Will dated January 14/1729, gave his son Samuel, his now dwelling house and all lands lying eastward of the Cole Brook line, and Sterling money in good bills of credit. "To son William, my sole executor, my now dwelling house and rest of my land, that is to say the west half of all my homestead farm, and my andirons and my old gray mare. To son Issac, half my homestead, the east end thereof and also my gun and ironbound chest, my new bridle and saddle, my new Bible, and also stock of cattle, hogs, sheep and my wearing clothes. To daughters Martha Pearce and Johanna Taylor, Mazy Brownell, Thankful Irish and Elizabeth Peckham, œ40 each. "

"Benjamin Wilbore in 1704 received all the lands in Portsmouth, R. I. of his father William Wilbore. He held this land until 1714 as is shown by the map of that date. This land is bounded east by the road to Bristol Ferry at the north and near the present Portsmouth railroad station. He was selling lands in Portsmouth on December 24, 1720, when he and his wife Elizabeth, now of Dartmouth, sold two small islands called Specitacle Islands to Daniel Rowland. It was about this time that he moved to Dartmouth, where he died. Part of his children are recorded in Portsmouth, part in Little Compton and the last births in Dartmouth. His will is dated Dartmouth, April 1, 1724, and proved December 1, 1729. He bequeathed: to wife Elizabeth, one-half of the profits of my homestead farm and use of one-half of my dewlling house. To son Daniel, 60 pds. To son William, land in Dartmouth, joining land of James Akin, William Durfey and Thos. Briggs, Jr. To son Samuel, certain land in Newprot, R. I., that I purchased of Benjamin Bull. To son Henry, all my homestead farm and dwelling house and 1670 acres of land in Dartmouth. To son George, 140 pds. To son Joseph, 150 pds. To son Walter, 150 pds. To son Benjamin, land in Tiverton. To daughter Abigail Wilbor, daughter Bathsheba and daughter Elizabeth Wilbore, 50 pds each. To daughter Mary, 50 Pds."
