Information re: Daniel Morris = “History of Morris County, New Jersey, 1739” that has Elder Morris of Basking Ridge, Mary, his wife, were members of the Presbyterian Church & Congregation. Daniel and Mary Riggs Morris were received into the First Presbyterian Church of Morristown, Morris County, NJ., by letter in 1758. Five years later, in 1763, he was made an elder of the church. He last met the session on 20 November, 1767. In the Combined Register of the Presbyterian Church, 1742/ 1885, the Morris family is listed on pages 166 and 167. Page 167 states, Information sent by the New Jersey Archives list Daniel Morris, as a son of Captain John and Sarah Morris. S.M.H. in Newark News #358 says that John Morris 1666-1749, had son Daniel as shown by John Morris Will, dated 27 Oct 1749.
