IN THE MATTER OF THOMAS H. LEADLEY, A PERSON ALLEGED TO BE
DISTRACTED OR A DRUNKARD.
On January 12, 1879, this matter coming on to be heard in open court, and the said Thomas H. Leadley being present in person and by counsel, a jury was impanelled, and the jury having heard all the evidence and the instructions of the court, retired in charged of an officer to consider their verdict.
After deliberation the jury returned a verdict as follows:
We the jury find that Thomas H. Leadley is a drunkard and spendthrift, and by reason of such condition is incapable of managing and caring for his own estate. It appearing to the court from the finding aforesaid, that the said Thomass H. Leadley is a drunkard or spendthrift, and a person for whom a conservator should be appointed to manage and care for his estate, it is ordered by the court that the clerk of this court transmit to the probate court of this County a duly certified copy of the verdict of the jury in this case.

IN THE MATTER OF JOSEPH J. ARNOLD, CONSERVATOR OF THE ESTATE OF THOMAS H. LEADLEY.
Petition for letters of conservatorship in the above entitled cause represents that Thomas H. Leadley of the County and State aforesaid is a drunkard and spendthrift and a person for whose estate a conservator should be appointed, and a jury in the County Court of said County had so found as a certified copy of proceedings in the Court had attached thereto will more fully appear; that he has personal estate worth about $474.00 and a life estate the income of which is about $800.00 per year, and that the said Leadley is unfit to properly manage or control his property: that petitioner is a brother-in-law of the said Leadley and prays to be appointed conservator.
Dated January 16, 1897. Subscribed and sworn by Joseph J. Arnold.
Bond of Joseph J. Arnold filed and approved Jan. 18, 1897.

IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF JOSEPH J. ARNOLD, TO BE APPOINTED CONSERVATOR OF THE ESTATE OF THOMAS H. LEADELY:
Now on this 18th day of January A.D. 1897, this matter comes on to be heard on the petition of Joseph J. Arnold to be appointed conservator of the estate of said Thomas H. Leadley, and it appearing to the court from the petition filed herein, together with a certified copy of proceedings had the County Court of said County of Peoria, that the said Thomas H. Leadley has been by a jury in said County Court of Peoria County been found a drunkard or spendthrift and a proper person for whom a conservator should be appointed to manage and care for his estate; and the said Joseph J. Arnold having petitioned to be appointed such conservator and having, as required by this Court, filed a bond herein, for the faithful performance of his duties in the penal sum of $6000.00 which bond has been approved by this Court.
It is upon consideration of the premises ordered by the Court, that the said Joseph J. Arnold be and he is hereby appointed conservator of the estate of the said Thomas H. Leadley with power to control and manage his estate as provided by law under direction and supervision of this court.

Middleburu College; Middlebury, Addison, VT; Biography: " Mead, Albert W., Ferrisburgh, North Ferrisburgh p. o., was born in Ferrisburgh, Vt. He is one of the prominent farmers of his town, and owns in addition to the old homestead farm of 150 acres, 200 more acres of very fine land. He was a son of Albert W. and Phebe (Eaton) Mead. She was born in Monkton, Vt., and died, leaving two daughters and one son -- Olive E., Albert W., and Urania. Albert Mead, sr., was married three times. His first wife was Naomi Bartlett, by whom he had seven children -- Sarah (now Mrs. Sarah B. Cronk) and Abram. His second wife was Phebe Eaton, by whom he had three children, and his third wife was Betsey Putnam. He was in early life a blacksmith and manufacturer of farm tools, having a trip-hammer, and employing several hands. He also carried on a farm on which he settled in 1792, where he died in 1859, aged eighty-seven years."
