Per Robyn Dodd: Seth MANLEY served in the army under Capt. Ebenezer Dean[?] of Taunton in 1775 on expedition to Lake George, New York. He also served under Capt. Phillip Walker. He took his gun with him to war and when he mustered out, he was charged 3 pounds for it. He was Sergeant. in Colonel James William's Company in 1780. Seth MANLEY. Descriptive list of men raised to reinforce the Continental Army for the term of 6 months, agreeable to resolve of June 5, 1789, returned as received of Justin Ely, Commissioner, by Brig. Gen. John Glover, at Springfield, Massachusetts, July 20, 1780. Seth was 40 years old, was 5 ft 8 in, dark complexion and was engaged for the town of Easton, Massachusetts. His regiment marched to camp July 20, 1780, under the command of Captain Benjamin Warren.
