John Sturgeon 1

Passengers to America, Consolidation of Ship Passenger List from New England Register, but Michael Tepper lists John Sturgeon 1740. page 474 and Carl Boyer's "Third Edition of ship passenger list, National and New England", has John Sturgeon to America in 1740 page 36.

John bought land in Cumberland Co in 1767-or applied for it them and sold it in 1783 and Elenor signed the deed with him. He sold more land there in 1784 and Elenor did not sign-indicating she may have died . This is the last record found of him in Pa, and he was in KY by 1784.

"Isham Sturgeon, was born in Hart Co., Kentucky, May 18th 1821 and was shot and killed in time of the Civil War, on Spring Valley, in Washington Co., Ark., aged 42 ys. 2 ms. & 20 ds.
He married in Hart Co., KY to Miss Delilah Denison (a sister of Thomas & Aunt Ruse) May 16th 1841, and she was born in Hart Co., KY, Aug. 15th 1823 and died near Sherrill, in Texas Co., Apr. 16th 1882 aged 58 ys. 8 ms. & 1 day.
Their children, first 6 born in Hart Co., KY, rest at Sherrill:
1st Nancy Jane Sturgeon, born Jan’y 6th 1842.
2d Esquire Sturgeon, born July 14th 1844., died in Oregon Co., Ark., Aug. 19th 1867 aged 23 ys. 1 mo. & 5 ds.
3d Harrison Sturgeon, born Feb. 20th 1847. Was shot and killed with his father, on Spring Valley near Jacks fork, in Washington Co., Ark. Aug. 8th 1863. Aged 16 ys. 5 ms and 18 ds.
4th Jerry Sturgeon, born Aug. 11th 1849, died near Sherrill, Sep. 28th 1857 aged 8 ys 1 mo. & 17 ds.
5th Thomas Granville Sturgeon, born Apr. 19th 1853.
6th Mary Elizabeth Sturgeon, born Nov. 20th 1856.
7th Louvina Sturgeon, born May 14th 1859, died at Sherrill, April 25th 1887, aged 27 ys. 11 ms. & 11 ds.
8th Drucillah Sturgeon, born Oct. 10th 1861, died near Sherrill June 11th 1865 aged 3 ys. 8 ms. & 1 day."

Seth Manley

Per Robyn Dodd: Seth MANLEY served in the army under Capt. Ebenezer Dean[?] of Taunton in 1775 on expedition to Lake George, New York. He also served under Capt. Phillip Walker. He took his gun with him to war and when he mustered out, he was charged 3 pounds for it. He was Sergeant. in Colonel James William's Company in 1780. Seth MANLEY. Descriptive list of men raised to reinforce the Continental Army for the term of 6 months, agreeable to resolve of June 5, 1789, returned as received of Justin Ely, Commissioner, by Brig. Gen. John Glover, at Springfield, Massachusetts, July 20, 1780. Seth was 40 years old, was 5 ft 8 in, dark complexion and was engaged for the town of Easton, Massachusetts. His regiment marched to camp July 20, 1780, under the command of Captain Benjamin Warren.
