"William Manley's ancestors were from Easton, Mass. They migrated to Chittenden in the early settlement of that township, and resided in that part of it known as New Boston. William married, first, Mary Green, and resided some years in Brandon, where his wife died, and he married, second, Lucy, widow of John Hitchcock, Jr., May 14, 1841. They resided a few years in the house now owned by J. H. Peabody, which had been built by Remembrance Hitchcock, and deeded to his brother John's heirs. Mrs. Manley bought that part of it which belonged to other heirs of her former husband. Mr. Manley died March 11, 1863, aged eighty-four years; Mrs.Manley died October 17, 1867."

[4 articles] "The Antigo Daily Journal" Antigo, Langlade County, WI Thursday, January 3, 1924; page 5. Obituary Mrs. Wensel Schelbauer [sic] Mrs. Wensel Schelbauer, 57, died at 5:30 P. M. yesterday after suffering for four months with a malady of the liver. Funeral services will be held at 10 A. M. Saturday at St. John's church. Burial will be in the Roman Catholic cemetery. "The Antigo Daily Journal" Antigo, Langlade County, WI Monday, January 7, 1924; page 5. Obituary Mrs. Wenzel Schelbauer Mrs. Wenzel Schelbauer died at her home 521 South Clermont street, at 5:30 Wednesday evening after an illness of three months with liver trouble. Mrs. Schelbauer, formerly Ann[a] Hubatch, was born on January 6, 1867, in Austria. On January 19, 1887, she became the wife of Wenzel Schelbauer. In 1903, they came to America, settling in Antigo, where they lived happily until the time of Mrs. Schelbauer's death. To this union seven children were born, five in Austria and two in this country. Those surviving are Joe, Frank, Frederick, Mrs. Fred Knott, Mrs. Mike Koszarek, and Mrs. Carl Monroe. A son Wenzel died in 1911. Other relatives surviving are three sisters, Mrs. J. Seis, Mrs. J. Markgraf, and Mrs. J. Houla [Höller], and three brothers, Frank, George, and Robert Hubatch. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at St. John;s church. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. _____________________ CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many friends and neighbors for their kindness during the illness and bereavement of our dear wife and mother.
