"Edward C. Schroeder Edward C. Schroeder, 72, Neva, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services and with his family at his side.He was born June 21, 1933, in the town of Norwood, a son of the late Carl and Mae (Igl) Schroeder. On June 3, 1967, he married Judith Kowalski at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva. She survives. Mr. Schroeder graduated from Antigo High School in 1951. A dairy farmer and potato grower, he was also employed as a telephone lineman and as a machinist at Murray Machinery in Wausau. He was a member of St. Mary and St. Hyacinth Catholic congregation. He enjoyed singing with the Antigo Barbershop Quartet, hunting, fishing, woodworking and skydiving. Mr. Schroeder was particularly proud of his yard and flower garden, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Jennifer (Alan) Novander, Weston; two granddaughters, Ashley and Alexandra; three sisters, Rosemary Owen, Mattoon, Alice (Mike) Klimoski and Joyce (Jim) Van Alstine, all of Langlade; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy (Penny) Kowalski, South Shore, S.D., Mary (Clarence) Berdan, Antigo, Paul (Mary), Steve (Donna), and Caroline Kowalski, all of Antigo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Schroeder was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Earl Owen.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Antigo. The Rev. Jeremiah Worman will officiate. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.The Strasser-Roller Funeral Home in Antigo is assisting the family.In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Kris Lahren, the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, ICU and Intermediate Care units, Comfort Care and Hospice Services, and especially to the respiratory therapists at Aspirus Pulmonary and Critical Care for the wonderful care and compassion given to Edward during his hospitalization."2Obituary.
