Beloved mother of Jim (Phyllis) Kemmerling of Green Lane, PA, John Dean (Joanne) Kemmerling of East Troy, Pat (Mary) Kemmerling of Waukesha, Bruce (Sue) Kemmerling of Watertown, and Debbie (Tom) Biever of Waukesha. Dear sister of Ed (Rose) Igl of Dousman. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and sisters-in law Marion Igl of Dousman, and Betty Igl of Dousman, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceded by her beloved husband Johnny, daughter Sharon Ann, and brothers James Igl and Robert Igl. She was a member of St. Bruno's Catholic Church, and a past member of the Christian Mother's Soc. She was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife, and loving mother. Funeral services NOON, Mon., at St. Bruno's Catholic Church, 266 Ottawa Ave., Dousman, WI. Rev. John Schreiter officiating. "Joseph Igl, 81, Retired Farmer, Died Yesterday-
Joseph Igl Sr., 81, of 341 Field Street, Retired town of Antigo farmer, died at 12:50 p.m., Sunday at the Langlade County Moemorial hospital after an illness of several month.
Born June 8, 1876, in Bavaria, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Igl, he came to this country in 1890, locating in Sheboygan. He operated a farm in the town of Antigo from 1901 until his retirement in 1948. On Aug. 17, 1902, he was married to Katherin Maier at St. John's Catholic church.
Mr. Igl was a member of St. John's Catholic church and the Holy Name Society of the church.
Surviving are a daugher, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Schroeder, route 1; eight sons, Mike, Herman, Joseph Jr, Frank, William, John, Irvin, and Henry Igl, all of Antigo; 42 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Snell, Valders, Wis., and Mrs. Anna Gaser, Bavaria, Germany; and two brothers, Isidore Igl, Dousman, Wis., and Max Igl, West Allis, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aug. 17 1939; two children in infancy, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic church. The Rev. Leo Binder will officiate at the solemn requiem high mass. Interment will be in Queen of Peace cemetery.
Friends may call at the McCandless - Zobel and Bradley funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until time of services. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Schnell, nee Barbara Igl, was born Aug. 5, 1884 in Germany, daughter of the late Frank and Teresa Fischer Igl. She was married to William Schnell, Aug. 17, 1905, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Sheboygan. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman. Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Manitowoc, Edward, of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Kuchera, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Alvis (Alice) Salm, of Rt. 1, Newton; eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death on March 7, 1933. Two sons, Francis and Eugene, five brothers and seven sisters also preceded her in death. Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m., on Sunday. Schnell, 54, of 926 Washington St., Manitowoc died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient nine days. Funeral Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Schnell was born Aug. 22, 1960 (should be 1906—b.m.l.) in the Town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, son of William and Barbara Igl Schnell. His father preceded him in death. He married Linda Kaltenbrun in 1932 and she preceded him in death in 1941. He operated a farm for many years at Liberty until Jan. 1, 1960, when he moved to Manitowoc. He married Mrs. Flora Reilly April 31, 1960, at Manitowoc. Until his death, he was employed by Burns Detective Agency for Mirro Aluminum Co. Manitowoc. A son, Elroy, preceded him in death in 1955. Survivors include his wife; a son, two daughters, his mother Mrs. Barbara Schnell of Manitowoc; three step-sons, four step-daughters, two brothers Raymond of Rt. 1, Valders, and Edward of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. John Kuchera of Manitowoc and Mrs. Alvis Salm of Rt. 1, Newton, and 22 grandchildren.
