Transcribed from "The Antigo Daily Journal" Antigo, Langlade County, WI. Monday, April 6, 1931 - page 7. Obituary Wenzel Fleischman Funeral services for Wenzel Fleischman, 73, who died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Hubatch, in the town of Rolling, were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at St. John's Catholic church. The Rev. Dean C. Saile conducted short services and interment was in the Catholic cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Frank, Wolfgang, and Joseph Wild, Albert Fleischman, Rast Hoecherl, and Joseph Hoecherl. Those from out-of-town who attended this funeral were: Mrs. Christ Mares, Kenosha; and Margaret and Catherine Hubatch, Mrs. Charles Peters and son, Bud, and Mrs. George Mauntan, all of Milwaukee.

Wenzel Fleischman was born June, 1857, in Austria. He was married to Catherine Wild in the old country October 17, 1881. He came to America forty-nine years ago, and lived in Antigo for two years. Then the family moved to Bessemer, where they also lived for two years and came back to Antigo. They settled on a farm in the town of Rolling, where they lived for thirty-five years. About a year ago they moved to the farm of their daughter, Mrs. Frank Hubatch, where their home has been since.

Eleven children were born to this union, three of whom died. The living are: Mrs. Christ Mares, Kenosha; Mrs. Frank Hubatch, Mrs. Herbert Carley, Mrs. Joseph Zoern, Mrs. William Koeler, and Frank, Charles, and Joseph Fleischman, all of Antigo. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow and children, seventy-eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

On Wednesday morning at 8:00 o'clock at St. John's church, a requiem high mass will be celebrated for Wenzel Fleischman, due to the fact that requiem high masses are forbidden by the Catholic Church during Holy Week."

"Fleischman, John "Jack"

"The Antigo Daily Journal" Antigo, Langlade Co., WI Tuesday, September 12, 1905. JACK FLEISCHMAN IS DRAGGED INTO A THRESHING MACHINE WITH FATAL RESULTS Was Brought to Antigo Hospital And Operation Performed But Died Four Hours Later Funeral Will Be Held St. Johns church Tomorrow Morning One of the worse accidents that has been reported here for sometime occurred on the Lange farm about five miles southwest of the city yesterday afternoon about three o'clock when Jack Fleischman was caught in a threshing machine, resulting in his death. He was riding by the place with his wife when he stopped and talked with the man that was feeding the machine and said he would feed it for a few minutes. The man knowing that he had had considerable experience, jumped down from the platform and Fleischman was caught in the teeth. He was almost gone. A gash about eight inches long was cut in his skull and had it not been that the engineer, who saw the accident, stopped the engine, he would have been pulled further into the machine. He was immediately taken to the house and Dr. Donahue was summoned. Upon his arrival, he bandage up the wounds as best he could, but it was very evident that he could not live. He was brought to town and taken to the hospital remaining conscious all the time, but he was suffering so much his arm, which had been torn into shreds, was amputated and had a compound fracture of the skull, he was bandaged up. He lived about four hours after the operation. Mr. Fleischman was married in June and was living on his farm near the town of Harrison, Marathon County. He was only twenty one years and spent the greater part of his life in this county. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning from St. John church, Rev. Father Sarto will conduct the services.
