"ELIZABETH2 DOUGLAS (William1), born in Ipswich, Mass., Aug. 26, 1641; baptized March 8, 1646. She married, "ffeb. 16, 1658," Dea. John Chandler, of Roxbury. John Chandler was the son of William Chandler, and was born in England in 1635. He was of Boston some years, but removed with others in 1666 to plant Woodstock, Conn., where he continued to reside "strong in the confidence of his townsmen till the time of his death." He was deacon in the church at Woodstock. He made his will June 1, 1702, and died April 15, 1703. His widow died at New London Sept. 23, 1705. They had eight children:--(*)

"SARAH2 DOUGLAS (William1), born in Ipswich, Mass., April 8, 1643; baptized March 8, 1646. She removed with her parents, in 1660, to New London, Conn., and there married, in October, 1661, John2 (William1) Keeney. He was made a freeman of New London in 1670. Sarah2 died Aug. 4, 1689. John Keeney was subsequently twice married, and had five daughters
(*) The names of the children only are given here. A full account of all the descendants of Elizabeth2 Douglas may be found in the "Chandler Family," by the Hon. George Chandler, A. M., M. D., of Worcester, Mass., published in 1872. Among these descendants are many who have done honor to the name of Chandler, including John Chandler, the artist, the Rev. Thomas Bradbury Chandler, D. D., Elizabethtown, N. J., 1777, and Dr. Chandler himself, portraits of whom are given in the "Chandler Family." Some account of the descendants of Mehitable3 and Sarah3 Chandler, children of Elizabeth2 Douglas, is given in the "Coit Genealogy," by the Rev. Frederick W. Chapman, A. M., published in 1874.
