Promoting an environmentally friendly future: World Conference on Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conservation

(Global E-net Osaka) - Osaka has been host to several world conferences in the last year and has again hosted another international event, the 3rd World Conference on Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conservation (WCPEC-3). The conference was held during the week of May 11th through May 18th at the Osaka international Convention center in conjunction with the 13th International PV Science and Engineering Conference, the 30th IEEE PV Specialists Conference and the 18th European PV Solar Energy Conference.

The conference had 1149 participants from 50 countries and covered a wide range of topics in the photovoltaic (PV) field, from basic material and cell research to terrestrial and space applications. The conference allowed for PV experts to gather and discuss technological developments and the creation of a sustainable PV market. Highlights of the program included a lecture by Prof. Hideki Shirakawa, the 2000 Nobel Prize Laureate in Chemistry for his discovery and development of conductive polymers as well as presentations on research and development projects.
