A well-intentioned theme is not given the proper treatment by the director.

Satyaraj is the servant in a big household with three brothers and two sisters. But he is treated as one among them and he in turn showers love and affection on all of them. Preeta, the youngest sister of the house, is the playful one.

K.S.Ravikumar comes to their house to fix up an alliance for his son with Preeta, the youngest sister of the house. But on learning that the hotel he owns is a haven for nefarious activities, they kick him out. He in turn, spoils Preeta's name and breaks up two possible alliances for her. Satyaraj teaches him a lesson which reforms him and he himself sets up the next alliance for her with Vijayakumar's son.

But the new bride loses her husband on the day of the wedding itself. Vijayakumar, a stickler for family prestige, wants her to stay indoors. He lets her stay at her brothers' house but when they agree to send her to college, he brings her back.

Satyaraj, who is intent on her remarrying, runs into a guy who is in love with Preeta. He finds out that Preeta too is interested in him and tries to bring them together against the wishes of the rest.

The director fails in fashioning any interesting plots when Satyaraj works to get Preeta remarried. The entire movie follows a predictable track. Satyaraj is subdued and has no romantic lead or duets. The rest are adequate. Koundamani irritates with his comedy track with Vichitra. A couple of songs sound good in Ilaiyaraja's soundtrack.
