Another example where a commendable effort does not always make for interesting viewing.Ayya (Parthiban) is an old do-gooder who runs a cinema theater. On a day when the theater is filled to capacity, news comes that someone has placed bombs in the theater. Police lays siege to the area and the rest of the movie deals with the attempts of the police and the bomb disposal squad to get the people out without causing a panic.
Interpersed with this are some sub plots. One involves a flowergirl (Suvalakshmi), a newlywed, whose husband is one of the viewers and her attempts to reach him. Parthiban's unhappy past also figures in the proceedings. Vadivelu, as a petty thief intent on duping the viewers, provides the comic relief.
While Parthiban does just fine as an actor, he slips in the director's role. He is unable to hold a tight rein on the proceedings which is so necessary to maintain the pace in a movie such as this one. Roja and Ishwarya are wasted in insignificant roles while Vadivelu's comedy track is distinctly unfunny. Ilaiyaraja's background score(there are no songs) contributes significantly to the claustrophobic atmosphere the director tries to create.
