Planning a Bucks Party | |||
|
The main reason to have a bucks party is it is one last chance to reminisce over past deeds with your mates, and at the same time make a total fool of yourself. So here are some of ideas to make your party memorable, but still keep you in the good books with the wife to be. |

THE PARTY |No.1 Tip|Timing|Themes|Locations|Food|Entertainment| NO.1 TIP - I know we all go to Bucks parties intending to be on our best behaviour, but sometimes we just just end up finding ourselves in difficult situations that are just too hard to explain (especially to our lovely, but generally wedding stressed wife to be). Therefore our No. 1 tip is to set rules for your Bucks Party. ie. what is acceptable and what is not, and hopefully your trusted Best Man will look after you. Additional tips are NO CAMERAS, invite mates you can TRUST and do not tell the bride where you will be. An oath of secrecy for all concerned is the best policy. Timing: Despite tradition, the Bucks Party should not be the night before the wedding (for obvious reasons). A week or even a month is best, and organise the party for a Friday or Saturday night so everyone can have some fun. Tradition also dictates that the groom should signal the end of the party with a toast to the bride, however the chances of this happening is very remote considering the likely state of the groom. The first the traditional and potentially sexist variety, and includes any or all of the following: booze, adult films, strippers, lap dances, drinking games and sworn secrecy. You can experience any combination of these diversions in a in a strip club, at a function room/hall or at a bar. The second type of bachelor party is becoming more popular in these new age sensitive times. It is simply a guys bonding session with less emphasis on drinking and strippers. The activities can include fishing trips, golfing trips, laser tag/paintball excursions, camping, extreme sports or a day of hard-core gambling. This style does not present the same temptations as a traditional Bucks Party, and will therefore minimise friction between the Bride and Groom (which during a stressful wedding build up can be very important). Accordingly cameras should be taken to this style of Bucks Party to catch some of the magical moments. Our Bucks Party pages will concentrate on the traditional style, however most of our tips, games and entertainment ideas are relevant for whichever style you choose. Location 1 - Book a hall/function room/shed for the night. All you will need to organise is plenty of alcohol and a few scantily clad ladies to serve drinks and put on a quick show for the lads. For adult service suppliers in your local area click here. Location 2 - There is no location. Simply organise a bus, and crawl from pub to pub. One of your stops should be to a lingerie bar or a bar that permits a stripper or Fat-O-Gram (I'm sorry girls but it is a tradition). If you require a bus for the night, refer to our Transport Business Directory Service. Also check our Supplies Business Directory for hire furniture, kegs and decorations. Food and Bucks Parties are not normally a big deal, so keep it simple. If you have organised a pub crawl for the party, normally everyone is big enough, and ugly enough, to organise some food for themselves. If the party is conducted at a hall or function room, simply get everyone to chip in for some pizzas or some BBQ chickens. Alternatively, an esky full of prawns on ice is also perfect for a bucks party. Our Catering Business Directory listings can also help you with catering and venues ideas for the Bucks Party. While they're not exactly food, I thought a brief discussion about cigars would be appropriate here. Cigars are a must for a Bucks Party, so spend a little extra money for some quality cigars and celebrate in style. (Tips - Buy the cigars as late as possible so they're fresh and buy in bulk, they are much cheaper this way.) Most bucks party entertainment is based around drinking and scantily clad women. However there are several other forms of entertainment that could/should be included at a Bucks Party. These include a plethora of drinking games, humiliating the groom and the great Aussie tradition of gambling. Click here for more details regarding Bucks Party Games and Entertainment. |Home|
