The Yorkshire Diamonds have a very tough task in front of them as they try and break the unbeaten streak of Western Storm. With just one win from three matches, Yorkshire Diamonds are not out of the running just yet but they certainly need to find some wins to sneak their way into the semi-finals.
Western Storm, on the other hand, is in an excellent position to qualify with four wins from its four matches.
Yorkshire Diamonds vs Western Storm Women’s Cricket Super League is going to be played at the York Cricket Club, York on the 15th of August 2019.
A good batting performance from the top-3 batters of the Yorkshire Diamonds helped it get its first win of the tournament. Lauren Winfield led from the front with 56, Alyssa Healy scored 30, and Hollie Armitage scored 33.
None of the other batters were able to get into double figures, though, and that is where the trouble for the Yorkshire Diamonds comes in.
They are just too dependent on their top-order especially as Jemimah Rodrigues has been a massive disappointment so far.
A couple of early wickets is all that is going to take to destroy the Yorkshire Diamonds batting.
Katie George, Leigh Kaspersk, and a couple of the other bowlers were able to get some wickets to their name in the previous match. It was a very good display from the entire bowling unit but having a big total to defend definitely helped.

Western Storm continued to dominate the Women’s Cricket Super League as it brushed aside Loughborough Lightning in the previous match. Once again, the Western Storm batting stood out as runs for Rachel Priest, Smriti Mandhana, Heather Knight, and quick runs for the others propelled them to 158.
That is 20 runs above par from what we have been seeing in this tournament and was always going to be very difficult to chase.
Fran Wilson, Sophie Luff, and Deepti Sharma are also pretty handy with the bat which gives Western Storm the strongest and deepest batting in the entire competition.
Freya Davis was the standout bowler from the previous match. She took four wickets for just 15 runs and bowled a maiden as well. That is a match-winning performance irrespective of the number of runs you have on the board.
Anya Shrubsole was unusually expensive but heather Knight, Deepti Sharma, and Clarie Nicholas did not disappoint.
It is hard to find too many faults with Western Storm right now and it will take something exception to be able to stop them.

Yorkshire Diamonds vs Western Storm Women’s Cricket Super League 2019 is going to be played at York Cricket Club, York. The weather forecast for York on match day is pretty good and we should be able to see an uninterrupted match being played out.
The pitch at York is expected to be a bit slow with a low bounce to make run-scoring difficult. We think this match could be one where 125 is a winning total.
Western Storm has some very good players in every discipline of the game and that should make it easy for it to adapt to different conditions. Better form, better batting unit, and winning momentum all point towards Western Storm continuing their unbeaten streak.
