Just a couple of days after finishing the ODI series in Pakistan, West Indies will fly home to host Bangladesh four two Test Matches followed by five T20 internationals. The West Indies and Bangladesh have actually played against each other a fair bit in Test cricket. They played two Tests in 2021 and three in 2018.
Two out of those Tests were won by Bangladesh and three by the West Indies.
Both teams are going to be at full strength and should be closer matched than first appears. The cricket betting sites in India and around the world are currently favoring West Indies to win this match quite heavily. Let us look at the two teams in closer detail and try to come up with some good betting options.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for West Indies vs Bangladesh 1st Test 2022. The match is going to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua starting on the 14th of June 2022.
West Indies is not an easy place to tour as England found out in March of this year. Up against a strong English side, West Indies drew the first two matches and then ended up winning the third by 10 wickets. One of the reasons why West Indies is a bit tougher to face has to do with its impressive fast-bowling attack and the fact that the Dukes cricket ball is used in Test matches.
This ball swings a lot more and tends to swing for longer as well.
Of course, some of the usual big names are missing from the West Indian attack this time around. Jayden Seales and Alzarri Joseph will lead the bowling lineup with help from quite possibly Anderson Phillip and Gudakesh Motie.
Raymon Riefer or Kyle Mayers also be called upon to bowl during the match.
Without Kemar Roach and Jason Holder, the bowling attack lacks a bit of experience. Still, we think Jayden Seales could do some real damage in this series and could end up being a good player to back.
The batting lineup for the West Indies is quite decent as well. Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell could open the batting with Nkrumah Bonner, Kyle Mayers, Jermaine Blackwood, and Joshua Da Silva lining up behind them.
It looks more and more likely that Raymon Riefer will play the match owing to the balance that will bring thanks to his all-round capabilities.

Bangladesh has lost four out of its previous five Test matches and even the one remaining match ended in a Draw. It seems like forever that Bangladesh keeps trying to transform itself into a team that can regularly win test matches but that has not happened so far.
That does not mean Bangladesh is not capable of exceptional results. Winning a Test series in New Zealand is something that will go down in history as one of the greatest achievements for Bangladesh.
It has also won a Test series in West Indies (back in 2009 and when West Indies was forced to field a second strong side).
For this series, Bangladesh will once again be captained by Shakib Al Hasan after Mominul Haque was sacked at the end of a poor string of results. Shakib will need his batters to have an exceptional test match. This includes senior players like Tamim Iqbal and himself but also Liton Das, Mominul Haque, and Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
Yasir Ali has been injured and is not going to be available for the first Test.
Bangladesh's batting is weak and we don't trust it at all against the swinging Dukes ball.
A couple of new faces have been included in the squad by Bangladesh as well. One out of Khaled Ahmed and Rejaur Rahman Raja could get a game to partner Ebadot Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman. Taijul Islam and Shakib will take care of the spin-bowling department.

The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. The surface is a good one for batting at the start and can become a bit uneven as the match progresses.

The weather forecast for Antigua is quite good although the occasional rain break should be expected. These are the islands after all and rain is never too far away. The pitch should be flat and good for batting start out with. The previous three matches played here have ended in Draws indicating that bowlers have found the going quite tough.
We think that is going to be the case once more. The batters will dominate and then maybe the test match will accelerate as the pitch starts to play a few tricks.

We are going to bet on Bangladesh to win. We think West Indies is being a bit overvalued ahead of this match. Its bowling attack is without Holder and Roach while the batting lineup is also a bit jittery. Bangladesh may not have had the best time in Tests but its squad is pretty good. We also think Bangladesh's bowling lineup will end up surprising a few people.

Easily the best test batter that West Indies has right now, Bonner loves batting at North Sound. He scored 123 and 38 not out against England the last time he played here. We think he is a good person ton bet on to score some runs once more.
Jayden Seales has come a long way in a short time and is going to lead the bowling attack alongside Alzarri Joseph. He picked up four wickets at this same venue when played here last. His bowling has the extra pace and bounce that could trouble Bangladesh. The odds available make this a bet worth considering.
The odds available to bet on Ebadot Hossain are just incredible. He has lively pace and can get the ball to move sharply. He has taken more wickets in 2022 than all his previous three years in Test cricket combined. The star of the Bangladeshi bowling attack in New Zealand, we think he is going to be a real factor in this series as well.
