It is all happening in the CSA T20 Challenge. Despite getting off to a worst-possible start, Boland Rocks are back into the contention to get to the top and the next few matches are going to be very crucial for them. Up next against them in the competition will be the Warriors, who have not had a kind of start they were looking for. However it can all change very quickly.
This upcoming match between the two sides is to be played on Thursday, 17th January 2022 at St George’s Park Cricket Ground in Gqeberha, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Warriors got off to an excellent start in the tournament, winning their opening match but have since then looked dismal. At one time, they were flying high near the top of the table, but with three consecutive losses in their last three matches, they are struggling for form. However, a win here will not only help their form but will also push them into the top half of the ladder.
As it currently stands on the points table, the Warriors are placed at the seventh spot with a pretty poor net run rate of -0.683. From a total of four matches played, they have won just one and lost three.
On paper, the Warriors have a decent side that is a little over-reliant on the likes of Wiaan Lubbe and Tristan Stubbs. Stubbs has mustered a total of 217 runs in the competition up until now who has been ably assisted by Lubbe who has scored 150. Apart from these two, however, we have not seen a lot of consistent contribution from the rest of the players. Cricket is a team game and the Warriors will need the rest of the guys to step up as soon as possible. If that happens in this upcoming match, the Rocks will certainly have their work cut out.

At one point, Rocks were looking the worst-performing side of the competition and rightly so. They got off to a terrible start to the competition, losing both of their opening two matches. However, they showed their potency in their last two matches as they registered a solid win each against the Lions and the North West Dragons, defeating both of whom was not an easy task.
A couple of back to back wins has pushed Boland Rocks to the third spot on the ladder and they will want to continue moving up from here. Currently on the ladder, Boland Rocks are placed at the third spot with nine points to their name and that coupled with a decent net run rate of 0.208.
The Rocks have finally gathered momentum and the primary reason for that is some immaculate batting by Janneman Malan and Pieter Malan. They have a total of over 250 runs combined and that may not sound much, but is certainly good enough for an opening pair. Apart from their contributions with the bat, it is the contribution from Ferisco Adams that has mattered. With their players beginning to get into the groove, the Rocks are slowly but steadily growing into a formidable unit. If they are able to keep up their game for this upcoming match as well, they will be a very difficult side to get past.

This is a match between the two sides placed at almost contrasting ends on the ladder. A loss here for the Warriors will push them further into the pit whereas a win for the Rocks will push them in the hunt to get to the top. Both sides are expected to come out hard, but comparing the two sides on all accounts, the Rocks look better.
