The associate and affiliate cricket matches do not attract as many eyeballs as some of the other mainstream matches do, but the quality of cricket can so often be top-notch in the lesser-followed matches too. Oman are now set to join the race in the USA leg of the tournament and will play their first match of the leg against the United States of America. Oman have been one of the better sides in the competitions and USA have been truly enjoying the advantage of playing at home. Given that and how the two sides have played, this is surely going to be a cracker of a contest.

United States of America are coming off a deflating loss at the hands of UAE, but they still won't be worried too much yet, especially given the way they have played in this leg. They have repeatedly outperformed Scotland and UAE and that in itself is a commendable task considering that they were seeded way lower than those two sides before this league started.

On paper, the United States of America have a decent side but their batting does look a little over-reliant on the top four. USA will be seeking more support from the rest of their players and if that happens, getting past them could prove to be a difficult challenge, even for Oman.

Oman have grown leaps and bounds recently and if there's any side that can compete with Afghanistan on the growth rate, it is Oman. They have regularly defeated the sides rated higher than them and it is apparent with the results of this league as well.
As it currently stands on the ladder, Oman are placed at the top with 19 wins to their name from a total of 32 matches. They have 40 points in total coupled with a net run rate of 0.156. Given that Scotland have played a good number of matches less than them and are not far off, Oman would want to make every opportunity to win count.
For Oman, it has been their battery of all-rounders that has reaped the rewards for them. Also, Jatinder Singh has been exceptional at the top of the batting order and will hold the key in this match as well. Perhaps the only thing that Oman would have to be careful about is adapting to the conditions quickly and if they can do that, getting past them could prove to be a very difficult task.

We might have already been a long way into the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, each match can still be of massive importance given the position the points table is in. While USA have enjoyed playing at home turf, Oman have been one of the best sides of the tournament.
