The women’s competition of the Hundred has been a great success and it shows that the women’s game can be put at the center of a new format as well. Of course, the quality of cricket is the main draw and that has been top-notch. This next match is going to be played between Southern Brave and Birmingham Phoenix.

Lauren Bell and Anya Shrubsole are the leading wicket-takers in the team at this stage. Here too, Southern Brave has a nice amount of depth with players like Amanda Wellington and Stafanie Taylor capable of bowling their full quota of balls as well.
Southern Brave would be very happy with the balance of its team and how it's performing so far. It is one of the sides to beat and could easily make it three wins in a row.

The threat and promise of Shafali Verma has not quite come to pass as the Indian sensation has just scored 19 runs in the Hundred 2021 so far. To count her out, though, would be a mistake. Teams have gotten better at how they attack Shafali Verma but she is good enough to strike back with plans of her own.
Erin Bruns, the other leading batter of the team has also had a similarly poor start. There has not been a fifty recorded by any of the players from the Birmingham Phoenix with 47 by Evelyn Jones being the highest score.
Amy Jones is the only batter to have hit a six for Birmingham Phoenix so far.
Kristie Gordon has found the most success with the ball and is able to keep the runs down as well. Almost all of the other bowlers have done pretty decently also without being spectacular. Birmingham Phoenix needs its big guns to fire with the bat otherwise a third defeat looms ahead.

The weather forecast for Southampton is mixed with some rain around the area. We could have some interruptions, unfortunately. The pitch is going to be good for batting with a nice amount of bounce in it. The outfield is also very quick and will allow the players to score freely.
