South Africa legends are going to be playing their second match of the Road Safety World Series Tournament but the first one was just over a year ago! These are strange times and the pandemic put a spanner in the plans for the tournament last year.
It is good to see them continue the tournament from where it was left off, though.
South Africa Legends are going to be taking on the Sri Lanka Legends in this match. Sri Lanka Legends have won two out of their three matches including an impressive chase just a few days ago against a strong West Indies team.
The islanders will certainly have a small advantage having played more recently than the proteas.
South Africa Legends vs Sri Lanka Legends Road Safety World Series T20 2021 is going to be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur on the 8th of March 2021.
There are some great names in South African cricket’s past and a few of them are going to be a part of this series. That being said, we don’t think South Africa is a particularly strong to choose from in this tournament.
Jonty Rhodes, Justin Kemp, Morne van Wyk, and Alviro Petersen are the batsmen that will lead the challenge for South Africa. Among these, Kemp was a ferocious hitter in his prime but players like these do not really end up remaining very effective after retirement.
Alivero Petersen and Jonty Rhodes are good players of spin and these are the two players that we are backing to get the most runs for South Africa in this match. Loots Bosman is also a member of the squad and will add to the batting depth.
Among the bowlers, Nantie Hayward and Makhaya Ntini are going to be the bowlers leading the attack. Roger Telemachus is perhaps the bowler that was one of the last players in this squad to remain active in cricket.
All of the bowlers are medium-pacers and these can be the most expensive ones now that they bowl at a fraction of their pace.

Sri Lanka Legends won their previous match as they chased down 158 with ease against West Indies. Tilakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga were the leading scorers for the team, not very surprising considering that both of them are among the fittest players in the tournament.
Sri Lanka actually has a couple of players that were playing cricket till quite recently. This adds more capability in the fielding department and some decent capabilities in the batting and bowling as well.
Upul Tharanga, Chamara Silva, Nuwan Kulasekara, Dhammika Prasad, and Rangana Herath are some of the players that have been involved in top-flight cricket quite recently. We think the depth in the batting department is brilliant and the bowling is also good when compared to the South African team.

Chasing has been quite successful for teams in the past few games and so we think the team that wins the toss is likely to want to field first. It can be seen as a big advantage.

The conditions in Raipur have been very good for batting. There is noting in the pitch for the bowlers and while there is some swing with the new ball, it travels off the bat like a rocket to the boundaries.
A score of around 160 should be seen as par batting first but that may not be a winning total.
We are backing Sri Lanka Legends to be able to win once more. They have the players that have played competitive cricket till not too long back and so hold a big edge over the South Africans.
