The success of the Abu Dhabi T10 league just how much of an appetite there is for this format of the game and other similar leagues were bound to come up. We have the Qatar T10 League starting now and there are some good players to look forward to. Perhaps, most importantly, the tournament is going to have some Pakistani players in its teams, something that was lacking from the T10 League held in Abu Dhabi.
The number of big stars is not the same but that is only likely to make the tournament more open. The Pearl Gladiators and Flying Oryx are going to be competing in the opening match of the Qatar T10 League.
Pearl Gladiators vs Flying Oryx Qatar T10 League 2019 is going to be played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha on the 7th of December 2019.
There are some former Pakistani internationals of interest in the Pearl Gladiators side. Sharjeel Khan was touted as the next big thing before he got caught up in match-fixing trouble. An aggressive left-handed batsman, his game seems to be built for T10 cricket.
He is going to have Mehran Khan from Qatar as the main support in the batting.
Afzar Zazai from Afghanistan is also a useful batter although we are not too convinced about his big-hitting capabilities.
The bowling unit is pretty stacked for the Pearl Gladiators. Mohammad Irfan, the near seven-foot fast bowler from Pakistan, Ajantha Mendis, the original mystery spinner, and Mohammad Sami, who still bowls at a rapid clip are all a part of the bowling lineup.
The batting looks a bit underwhelming for the Pearl Gladiators but its bowling is going to test every other team in this competition.
Faisal Javed, Sohaib Maqsood, Adnan Ilyas, Uzair Amir, Mohammed Nadeem, Shaikh Raheel, Khurram Shahzad, Philip Joseph, Mehran Khan, Nafees Shahzad, Saqlain Arshad.
The West-Indian duo of Kennar Lewis and Andre Fletcher are going to headline the batting for Flying Oryx. These are two serious strikers of the cricket ball and can do a lot of damage in T10 cricket. In fact, Andre Fletcher was a part of the Abu Dhabi T10 and was prolific in hitting sixes at will.
With Abdul Shakoor from the UAE and Imran Ashraf also in the side, the batting strength looks a bit better in the Flying Oryx side.
The bowling is also not without some well-known names as Krishmar Santokie, Sompal Kami, and Aftab Alam all feature in this lineup. In contrast to the Pear Gladiators bowling unit, the Flying Oryx bowling attack features bowlers that are still playing international cricket and that is always an advantage as well.
In Aftab Alam, they also have a hard-hitting batsman down the order.

The weather in Doha is expected to be dry and pretty pleasant in terms of temperature. The pitch at the Doha stadium is going to be flat and good for batting. It is usually a bit lacking in pace but remains very similar for the duration of the match.
The batsmen will be able to make the most of their chances once they get used to the pace of the wicket. The boundaries are pretty large and will require some good hits to be cleared.
