The Otago Volts and the Wellington Firebirds are the bottom two placed teams in the Super Smash 2021-22 standings right now. Both teams have won just one match and face an uphill battle to try and qualify for the Super Smash playoffs.
The Otago Volts have one win from their five matches but they also have on no-result to give them two points more than what the Wellington Firebirds have.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Otago volts vs Wellington Firebirds Super Smash 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the John Davies Oval, Queenstown on the 28th of December 2021.
The Otago Volts continued to struggle in the Super Smash 2021-22 season and it looks like its assembly of experienced domestic stars is finally running out of steam. Neil Broom and Nick Kelly have not been able to produce enough runs for the Volts to win consistently and the bowling has looked pretty underpowered as well. Hamish Rutherford is the only batsman that is in some sort of form but he needs some support to help him out.
Anaru Kitchen and Michael Rippon can usually be relied upon to provide valuable runs down the order but that has also not happened this season of the Super Smash.
Duffy, Kitchen, Bacon, and Rippon are the bowlers that form the core of the bowling unit. Neither of them has shown the ability to pick up wickets consistently or keep the runs down.
Hamish Rutherford, Nick Kelly, Jacob Duffy, Angus McKenzie, Michael Rippon, Matthew Bacon, Max Chu, Neil Broom, Llew Johnson, Anaru Kitchen, Tasman Jones.
The Wellington Firebirds have failed to live up to the expectations that were laid on them at the beginning of this tournament. Finn Allen has graduated from being a domestic superstar to a payer that is recognized on the international stage as one of the most exciting talents around. He was expected to lead the batting lineup for the Firebirds but he has so far had an unusually quiet Super Smash campaign.
With Troy Johnson and Michael Bracewell available for batting support, the Wellington Firebirds are as strong or just a bit stronger than the Otago Volts in the batting department. Bennet, Sears, and van Beek are all very good bowlers and give the Wellington Firebirds a clear advantage.
We think this may be the time to get behind the Wellington Firebirds.
Finn Allen, Troy Johnson, Michael Bracewell, Tim Robinson, James Neesham, Nathan Smith, Jamie Gibson, Logan van Beek, Peter Younghusband, Ben Sears, Hamish Bennett.

There is some rain predicted on match day but overall the forecast is not too bad. The pitches in New Zealand have been very flat and excellent for the batsmen. Nothing different is expected this time around and we think a high-scoring match is in store.
We are going to bet on the Wellington Firebirds to win. They have a slightly stronger batting unit and their bowling is clearly better than the Otago Volts as well.
Bet on the Wellington Firebirds to win.
