Rajasthan Royals got off to a rather shaky start but with Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson building a solid partnership here, the Royals will be eyeing a big score. They have some heavy strikers of the ball still in the dug-out, Royals can be threatening at the death. Considering that and the batsmen at the crease, bet on the Royals to score at least 191 runs here.
Jos Buttler has more often than not been a force to deal with and who would know it better than Mumbai Indians. He has already gotten off to a terrific start and will be looking to make this one count. Bet on Jos Buttler to be the top scorer for the Royals in this match.

Mumbai India started off their 2022 IPL campaign with a loss but they will not be fussed just yet. After all, they have known to be slow-starters and are still in familiar territory. Having said that, they will want to get off the mark as soon as possible and will be looking to exploit any opportunity that comes their way.
Up next in the tournament, Mumbai Indians will be up against Rajasthan Royals, who are their arch-rivals. The two sides have more often than not produced fine nail-biting encounters and we don't expect anything different this time. Mumbai Indians have a fine history and a strong leadership group, Rajasthan Royals have the momentum and a lineup that oozes class. The clash between the two sides is expected to be nothing less than a mouth-watering clash.
Mumbai India and Rajasthan Royals will take on each other in the 9th match, which is to be played at the DY Patil Sports Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Saturday, 2nd April 2022.
Keeping everything aside, the biggest news for Mumbai Indians going into the upcoming match will be the return of Suryakumar Yadav, who - in recent years, has been their most dependable batsman. His return would immediately plug the most prominent gap that Mumbai Indians were exposed of in the first match.
Against the Capitals, Mumbai Indians got off to a good start, but could not capitalize on the momentum set by Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. With two youngsters in Anmolpreet Singh and Tilak Verma, Mumbai's batting unit looked a little fragile in the middle. They did get end their innings with a flourish and reached a commanding total of 177, it was probably a good dozen runs short of where they should have been after the start they got. With Yadav coming in, their batting would look good with firepower available right through the order.
It has been the bowling that has, for so long, led the torch. The likes of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah bowling in tandem used to trouble even the best but with Boult not available, Mumbai Indians found it a bit tough in the previous match - both in the beginning and at the death. The fact that Jasprit Bumrah was way off didn't help Mumbai's cause either.
Despite a subpar performance in the previous match, Mumbai Indians won't be worried, yet. There were plenty of positives for them to take from the first match with Murugan Ashwin's spell being the highlight. He was easily the stand-out for them in the previous match and is certainly going to enjoy bowling in a day game with no dew around.
On paper, Mumbai Indians do look well-settled with some extraordinary firepower available with the bat. They have hard-hitters available down till number seven with both Daniel Sams and Tim David capable of winning the match on their own.
With the ball, however, they were a tad too inexpensive and they will need to be wary of that. The likes of Tymal Mills, Basil Thampi, and Daniel Sams can be expensive at times and it would be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma wins. The bowlers failed to close the last game despite being in the driving seat and they will need to do a lot better against a more potent batting unit. If they can do that and the batting unit plays to its potential, Mumbai Indians will be a very tough side to get past.
Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Anmolpreet Singh, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, Tymal Mills, JJ Bumrah, Basil Thampi.
Rajasthan Royals looked a tad behind in the second day of the auction, but it was exactly the opposite when they took the field. There were a few surprising picks in the auction, but their auction strategy looked brilliant after they exhibited their approach and strategy in their opening game - against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
These are still early days but Rajasthan Royals will be relishing the top-of-the-table position that they currently occupy. Not only did they win their opening match, but they also did so clinically. Almost everything, right from the beginning to the very end, seemed to be falling the Royals' way. Perhaps the only thing that didn't work out well for them was Nathan Coulter Nile going for plenty in his three overs.
The Royals' signing of Devdutt Padikkal was particularly intriguing, especially with Padikkal being a designated opener have the Royals having those in plenty. However, the way he delivered batting at four was commendable and the Royals will want him to continue doing that. Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, and Jos Buttler all looked in convincing form with the bat and the total they scored was an evidence enough of their potency.
In the bowling as well, Rajasthan Royals seem to be having pretty much all their bases covered. The opening pair of Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna looked lethal on a surface that had a bit of extra bounce and pace. With the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin to bowl in the middle overs, the Royals will be difficult to deal with right throughout. Their death bowling does look a little shaky with Trent Boult being the only experienced campaigner.
All in all, Rajasthan Royals do not only have the momentum going for them they have an exceptionally balanced side to sustain that momentum. Arguably, the only thing they would need to take care of is their death bowling and if they can take care of that, they will be a very formidable opponent, not just in the upcoming match but in the matches to follow.
Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, YS Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini.
Although this is a day game, there will be a certain advantage in chasing. With the ball likely to stay dry throughout, the spinners will have a massive role to play. Keeping all that into consideration, we expect the captain winning the toss to field first.

This ground produced a sporting contest last time around and we expect nothing different this time. Since this is a day game, the dew is unlikely to make an impact as big as there has been in the tournament so far. The par score here would be around 170 and the team batting first would want to score around 10 runs more.

While the rivalry between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians is not as old as some of the others in the history of the tournament, the two teams have definitely produced some of the most stunning moments in the history of the tournament. We expect that legacy to continue as this match too promises to be a cracker of a contest. Both sides have a swashbuckling batting unit and both would come out all guns blazing. The team that bowls better is going to govern the fate of the match. Considering how the two sides did in their last respective matches and the on-paper combinations of the two sides, Rajasthan Royals certainly look ahead. We would be placing our money on the Royals' win and so should you.
Ishan Kishan is coming into this upcoming match o the back of the red-hot form. He not only played a special knock in the last match but also has a terrific record in recent IPL matches. In his last four matches, he has crossed a personal milestone of fifty or more runs four times. Given the form he is in, Kishan certainly looks good for another one here.
Trent Boult is someone who enjoys bowling at the death and in the powerplay and has delivered consistently. Besides' Mumbai's top-order can be a bit shaky against quality left-arm quicks. For that reason, a bet on Boult to pick at least a couple of wickets seems to be a pretty lucrative option.
Both sides have swashbuckling batsmen and the ball flies of the bat at Wankhede. Considering that and the way the two teams played with the bat in their respective opening matches, bet on the match sixes to exceed 14.
Sanju Samson looked as fluent as he has ever been in the Royals' last game and he has that power game against hard pace. He bats in the top order and should get a decent start given the form he is in. Bet on Samson to score at least 22 runs in the match.
