UP seemed to be down and out in the quarter-final before a brilliant second-inning fightback by its bowlers and an improved batting performance saw it take the win. After doing well in the IPL and getting a lot of attention, Yash Dayal was expected to lead the bowling attack and he did. He may not have got the most wickets but he bowled with pace and always asked tough questions.
Shivam Mavi also bowled quite well to be one of the key contributors to that win.
Ankit Rajpoot, Saurabh Kumar, and Prince Yadav round out the bowling unit.
The batting lineup UP is a bit jittery. Priyam Garg and Rinku Singh are the two most successful batters for UP so far in this Ranji season and will have to come up with something special. The rest of the batting lineup seems to be a bit weak and could get in trouble under sustained pressure.
The trick for UP is going to be to get enough runs to allow its bowlers a chance of attacking the strong Mumbai batting lineup.
