The Hobart Hurricanes are going to be starting their Big Bash League campaign against the two-time defending champions, the Sydney Sixers. The Hobart Hurricanes are always one of the dark horses for the BBL title. They have a strong team and always seem capable of beating any side on their day. The batting lineup is going to be led by Matthew Wade, Darcy Short, Caleb Jewell at the top with Ben McDermott, Peter Handscomb, and Tim David in the middle. This is a very strong batting lineup.
We are especially excited about Tim David's form and think he could be a great pick for the 'To Hit a Six' betting market. His ability to smash deliveries over the boundary line is going to come in very handy for the Hurricanes.
Rilee Meredith is the express fast-bowler in this lineup, as the Hurricanes always tend to have in their ranks. He is going to be supported by Nathan Ellis, Scott Boland, and possibly Joel Paris in there as well. Nathan Ellis is the designated death bowler of the team and could be a good pick to the top wicket-taker for the Hurricanes in this match.

The Sydney Sixers got out of the blocks in the best way possible with a 152 run win over the Melbourne Stars. It was as emphatic a victory as you could dream of. Josh Philippe, Moises Henriques, and James Vince all batted beautifully to essentially put the game beyond the Stars.
Steve O'Keefe ended up with four wickets and continued to show his mastery of the new ball. Sean Abbott is one of those bowlers that always picks up a lot of wickets and he ended up with three as well.
There is no doubt that the Sydney Sixers are one of the best teams of BBL 2021-22. Are they unbeatable, though? We don't think so.
A couple of early wickets could test their batting depth and the bowling attack can be put under pressure as well.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. Knowing the target is going to be a huge advantage as the pitch may not be as easy to play on as some of the other surfaces being used in the BBL.

The weather forecast for this match is excellent and there is no threat of rain. The pitch is a bit of a concern, though. This is not a venue that is used for major matches very often and so the surface can be a bit hit or miss. We expect a flat batting wicket that will be on the slower side. The small boundaries should be able to compensate for that and we could have another high-scoring match.
We think 160 is going to be par for the venue.

One of the most consistent batsmen in BBL history, Short is very good at opening the batting and just keeping one end safe till the end. He hits a lot of boundaries and we are very happy to back him at these odds.
Ellis is an excellent death bowler. He has a very good yorker and is able to change the pace as needed. He always picks up a lot of wickets and we think he could be the top bowler for the Hurricanes in this match.
