The ICC World Cup 2019 was supposed to be the tournament when England finally triumphs after four years of preparation. England came into the tournament as the clear favorite with a team that had no apparent weaknesses.
Now, after losses to Pakistan and Sri Lanka, England is n more than just a little bit of trouble.
Their remaining three matches are with Australia, India, and New Zealand. To be sure of qualifying England will need to win at least two of those. First up is Australia.
Five wins from six matches have put Australia in an excellent position. The return of David Warner and Steve Smith has given the side a lot of batting depth and Mitchell Starc is also leading the bowling attack superbly.
Australia has received a lot of banter from England supporters and former players in recent times. Now that the fact they can make things difficult for England and put in a psychological blow ahead of the Ashes is not going to be wasted on them.
This is one of the most highly awaited matches of the cricket world cup 2019.
England vs Australia ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be played at Lord’s London on the 25th of June 2019.
Wins against the West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan showed one side of England’s cricket while the losses to Sri Lanka and Pakistan showed another. England does not need any extra motivation for this match against Australia but now that the stakes are high, it will be interesting to see how they turn up.
Everyone expects England to win and they are playing at home so it is understandable the amount of scrutiny they are under.
There is also a sense of impending doom by a country that has seen its cricket team self-destruct on several occasions. Will the shock loss against Sri Lanka open up some of these old wounds?
England has played a very high-tempo form of cricket ever since its disastrous 2015 campaign. Now, its entire team has been set-up to be aggressive from the start. This is a tactic that works well when the pitch is flat for batting and there is not too much riding on the outcome.
Unfortunately for England, it appears like the pitches are going to get slower as the tournament progresses and the pressure is only going to ramp up. This is why England needs to show a bit more flexibility than it has so far.
It is unclear if Jason Roy is going to be available for the match against Australia and his continuing absence is a big worry for England.
Even without Roy, there is a lot of batting firepower in the England side with the most important batsman being Joe Root. As the only player whose natural game is suited to knocking the ball around, his success is vital to the England team’s success.
Root and Morgan are the players that have had a lot of success against Australia recently and the ones that we believe are going to test this Australian side again. The success of Jofra Archer in the tournament so far has also made him an important player.
How he performs against Warner and Finch at the top of the order is going to be crucial as well. We don’t anticipate any changes in England’s playing eleven for this match.
Jonny Bairstow, J Vince, JE Root, Eoin Morgan, BA Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, CR Woakes, AU Rashid, Jofra Chioke Archer, M Wood.
David Warner and Aaron Finch are in prime form for Australia and showing just how dangerous their side can be. The return of Marcus Stoinis to the playing eleven also means that overall balance for the side is better. They can now play Usman Khawaja at number three without having to accommodate Shaum Marsh in the lower order.
Warner, Finch, Khawaja, and Smith are a very strong top-4. They look stronger than England at the moment and that is something that should scare all the other teams.
With Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Alex Carey in the middle-order, there is no shortage of six-hitting power in this team either.
David Warner and Mitchell Starc have been the two biggest match winners for Australia so far. Warner’s new more measured approach to batting is allowing him to play with an unbelievable amount of consistency.
Mitchell Starc, on the other hand, has just relied on fast toe-crushing yorkers to get him the wickets.
Both of these players also have a very good record against England and will come into this match with a point to prove.
One of the few weaknesses for Australia in this tournament has been its team selection. They have refused to pick Nathan Lyon in the playing eleven but may want to re-consider that against England since they have struggled against spin.
So far, the idea has been to use Glenn Maxwell as the fifth bowler.
Australia needs to ensure that Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell are at their best otherwise the 20 overs from Maxwell, Stoinis, and Zampa provide plenty of scoring opportunities for the opposition.
It was just a couple of months ago when Australia’s ODI team was being ridiculed and England was getting all the accolades. Now, the two teams are going to play against each other in an important ICC World Cup 2019 match with Australia the better-settled team.
David Warner, Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Michael Lyon, Jason Behrendorff.
The team winning the toss is going to want to bat first. England does tend to prefer chasing down a total but this important match may make them re-think their strategy.

England vs Australia ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be played at Lord’s, London. The weather has improved considerably in the United Kingdom but some rain has been forecast in London on match day.
We don’t think there is going to be enough rain to affect the match but we may get some delays.
The pitch at Lord’s was excellent for batting in the match between the West Indies and New Zealand. We expect the same in this match and plenty of runs to be scored. These are two strong batting sides and we expect a score of 330 to be par.
Our Dream11 team for England vs Australia ICC World Cup 2019 is all about getting the players who handle pressure well into the side. This is a big match and a cool temperament is going to be critical. We will be updating our Dream11 prediction for England vs Australia ICC World Cup 2019 on Twitter after the toss. Wicketkeeper: We have three excellent wicketkeeper options. Jonny Bairstow is an opening batsman, Jos Buttler is the X factor of the England side, while Alex Carey is very good down the order. For this match, we have selected Jos Buttler. He has not scored runs in the last few matches but loves playing against Australia and is not the kind of player to miss out for a long time.
Batsmen: Again, there are some very good options in the batting department. Joe Root, David Warner, Aaron Finch, and James Vince are our choices for this match. While Root, Warner, and Finch are among the highest run-scorers of the cricket world cup 2019, James Vince has struggled for runs. His place at the top of the order and the low price for which he is available makes him a good pick to allow for some great players in the other categories as well.
All-rounders: Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are an integral part of Australia's plans. They both bowl in every game and are used as floaters to take the maximum advantage of the end overs.
Bowlers: Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc are fighting to be the top wicket-takers in this world cup. Picking them both is an easy choice. We have also included Pat Cummins and Adil Rashid in the side. They are quality bowlers who have a penchant for taking wickets.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have selected David Warner as captain and Jonny Bairstow as vice-captain for this match.

England has dominated Australia in ODI cricket in the recent past. It won 4-1 against Australia in Australia and then followed that up with a 5-0 result against Australia in England. England will have good memories of playing against Australia but will be aware that was an Australian side without Warner, Smith, and even Starc on some occasions.
Australia is peaking at the right time and we believe they have the experience of winning important matches. This game is going to be decided by mental strength and that is where we believe Australia has England beat.
Bet on Australia to win.
