The Dragons come into this match with two wins out of four, currently in second place on the league table, while the Madurai Panthers have won two out of the three matches they have played and are in third separated only by net run rate.
It is still early days but both teams would like to be as close to the leaders as possible.

The Dindigul Dragons are a top-heavy side that is disproportionately dependent on the performances of Hari Nishanth and Vishal Vaidhya. The rest of the batting around them is a bit susp[etc and so while the team would be happy with its win in the previous match, we don't think they will be celebrating just yet.
That win came because of a brilliant batting performance from Vishal Vaidhya, who top-scored with 84. Mani Bharathi also played well but the middle-order was never tested.
R Vivek, Mohit Hariharan, and a couple of the lower-order batters can score runs but we would not want to depend on them too much.
The seam bowling resources for the Dindigul Dragons are nothing to write home about. M Silambarasan is easily the pick of the bowlers with his reliable slow spin. He can go for stick in a few matches but in most matches, he should be able to pick up the required wickets.

The Madurai Panthers were destroyed by Sanjay Yadav and the Nellai Royal Kings in the previous match that they played. Arun Karthik scored a brilliant century off just 57 deliveries but he was unable to get the team to a win. No one really stayed with Karthik for long enough and as a result, the Panthers fell short of the target by 26 runs.
B Anirudh, NS Chaturved, and Jagatheesan Kousik are some of the other players that are more than useful batters.
The bowling attack is nothing much to write home about here either. One of the things that worry us is the fact that Sanjay Yadav ( a left-handed power hitter) was able to take down the Madurai Panthers bowling with ease in their previous match. In this contest as well there are going to be a couple of dangerous left-handed batters that the Madurai Panthers will have to find a way past.

The conditions in Dindigul are forecast to be excellent for cricket. There is no rain forecast and we have seen just how well the pitch has played at the venue already. There is a nice amount of bounce and carry in the surface that actually plays in favor of the batters. The boundaries are small and the outfield is also quite quick. Another high-scoring match where something around 170 is par seems likely.
