We have a top-of-the-table clash to look forward to in IPL 2021 as Delhi Capitals takes on Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both these teams have been quite impressive and have won four out of their five matches so far.
Delhi Capitals won its previous match in a thrilling Super Over finish against Surisers Hyderabad while Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a heavy defeat against Chennai Super Kings prior to this game.
The conditions in Ahmedabad are going to be quite different from Chennai or even Mumbai for that matter. The change in venue might force some changes in the playing eleven as well. DC and RCB will both know that this contest is one that could be quite crucial in the race for a top-2 position and so they will both be up for the fight.
Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2021 is going to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on the 27th of April 2021.
Delhi Capitals won their previous match by the skin of their teeth. The margins were so small that luck plays a big role and it was certainly on the side of Delhi in that match. With four wins out of five matches, you would think that Delhi Capitals has got most things sorted but that is not the case.
Kagiso Rabada has not been at his best this season, Marcus Stoinis is finding it hard to make an impact with either the bat or the ball, Shimron Hetmyer has next to no runs to his name, and even Steve Smith has looked a bit rusty.
That may be because of the tough wickets that DC has played on in its previous two matches but the team certainly has a lot of room for improvement. Axar Patel has returned to the team and made an immediate difference but a bit more tinkering is required to get the right balance.
We think Amit Mishra might struggle to stay in the side even though he has bowled quite well. His matchup against Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers could be his savior for this match, though.
DC has been very dependent on Shikhar Dhawan scoring runs and he has done the job in most matches. We think Sam Billings deserves a chance in the playing eleven in place of Hetmyer and that will hopefully happen in this match.
Avesh Khan has been quite good with the ball but is he really someone who can lead the bowling attack for an entire IPL season? We don’t think so. Ashwin, Axar, and Rabada need to step up against the strong RCB batting lineup.
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Steven Smith, RR Pant, Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Avesh khan.
RCB has a poor match against CSK where it never really got into the game. Harshal Patel went for the most expensive over in IPL history, the batting lineup suffered a collapse, and the fielding was very poor.
RCB has looked like the team to beat in IPL 2021 and so that previous performance was quite out of character.
Does one bad match make it a poor team, though? We don’t think so. Virat Kohli has been batting quite well without being at his best and Glenn Maxwell seems to have found his mojo. We all know what AB de Villiers is capable of and have already seen him play one magical inning in IPL 2021.
Matching any one of them so far, though, has been Devdutt Padikal. He looks stronger than in the previous season and is able to assert himself right from the start of the inning. His good form is a big asset for RCB.
As we saw in the previous match, though, RCB seems to be lacking one quality Indian batsman. Washington Sundar is not a number three player, Rajat Patidar has failed, and so maybe Mohammad Azharudeen could be given a chance. A change is unlikely in this match, though.
Similarly, Mohammad Siraj and Harshal Patel have been the standout bowlers for RCB this season. Yuzvendra Chahal has struggled for wickets and Navdeep Saini continues to be very expensive in this format of the game. Kyle Jamieson is also someone that can be targetted by a good batting lineup.
Dan Christian and Washington Sundar help provide some flexibility to the bowling lineup.
V Kohli, Devdutt Padikal, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Washington Sundar, Rajat Patidar, Daniel Sams, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, YS Chahal.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bowl first. There is some dew expected to play a part and so the team that bats second is going to have a pretty big advantage. Make sure you think about that while placing your bets.

The weather should be good for playing and we expect the pitch in Ahmedabad to be very good for batting. There should be some nice bounce in the surface for the batsmen and the bowlers should be able to get some help as well. The boundaries are big and can bring the spinners into play as well.
We think a score of around 180 is the least that teams batting first will aim for at this venue.

We are going to back the Delhi Capitals to win this match. Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, and Rishab Pant have been in good form and we think they are going to enjoy the conditions in Ahmedabad. The return of Axar Patel has also strengthened the bowling lineup considerably and we could see some changes that improve the balance of the team further.
Bet on the Delhi Capitals to win.
Both teams have brilliant batsmen leading their lineup and a number of them have already registered big scores. We think at least one individual score of 68 or more is very likely in this match and we love this bet.
We knew RCB has some tremendous six-hitting power in the form of Maxwell and de Villiers but now that Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli are also smashing sixes, this bet is an absolute no brainer. The match is expected to be high-scoring and we think RCB should get at least seven sixes total.
