For the first time in the history of the IPL, the Chennai Super Kings have lost their first two matches of the season. Things look a bit dire for CSK as its bowling lineup comes under the scanner. Its next IPL 2022 match is going to be against the Punjab Kings who also lost their previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
PBKS has put together a dangerous lineup that is certainly capable of causing havoc but its high-risk approach also comes with the possibility of failure. Every IPL betting site has Punjab Kings as the underdog in this contest, though. Could that be something you can take advantage of or is smarter to stick with the favorites?

CSK is under a bit of pressure coming into this match. Two losses to start IPL 2022 have made things tougher for it than CSK is used to. Not everything is doom and gloom, though. CSK scored 210 in the previous match and batted very well. Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, and the entire middle- order played a crucial role.
The only batsman to miss out was Ruturaj Gaikwad but it is only a matter of time before he gets in the runs as well. The real problem for CSK has been its bowling.
The spinners have found it very difficult to have any sort of impact on the flat batting pitches that we have seen so far and the fast-bowling resources for CSK are very thin. Mukesh Chaudhary and Tushar Deshpande were the leading fast bowlers for the team in the previous match.
That is a failure of the management at the auction as a result of which the squad available is quite poor.
Bringing back Milne and maybe giving Hangagrekar a chance is the only solution in front of CSK. If CSK does not reinforce its bowling ahead of the match against the Punjab Kings then they could be in for a real hiding.

The Punjab Kings lost early wickets against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous match and ended up losing too many wickets. They did show a lot of intent along the way and we think a couple of matches where such an approach backfires is to be expected.
On paper, PBKS has a very solid batting lineup. Mayank Aggarwal and Shikhar Dhawan form the opening pair followed by the hugely impressive Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, and the big hitters. Raj Bawa has found life in the IPL a bit tough and there are still a few question marks over the temperament of Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith,
PBKS has not had many runs from its opening duo so far and Liam Livingstone is short of runs in the IPL as well. The batting lineup has a lot of potential but it has not been able to deliver that so far. As a bettor, you want to be careful how much you lay faith in what a team can do rather than what it is actually doing.
The bowling attack for PBKS is going to be led by Kagiso Rabada. The South African pacer has had a brilliant last couple of seasons in the IPL and there is no reason to expect anything different from him this time around. The backup bowling is once more a bit questionable.
Odean Smith is a dangerous batsman but his bowling is ordinary and can be quite expensive. Arshdeep Singh has also not had the success we are used to seeing him have. That could once again be due to the better batting surface IPL 2022 is being played on.
Rahul Chahar is bowling brilliantly but Harpreet Brar is not. PBKS also has a number of holes that it needs to plug.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. This is a huge advantage to have as we have seen all but one match so far being won by the team that won the toss.

The conditions at the Brabourne Stadium are expected to be very good for batting, just as they have been so far. The pitch is flat, even-paced, and becomes even better to bat on under the lights. There is a lot of dew that comes in and makes the conditions very difficult to defend in. The spinners will have a tough time as the ball skids onto the bat.
Batting first and scoring at least 180 seems like the least to stay in the game. CSK lost after scoring 210 in the previous one at this same venue.

Most matches have seen over 13.5 sixes being hit and that could be the case this time as well. We would put most of our betting purse on this market.
