We are just a couple of days into the Women's Super Smash 2021 and there's a clear line of separation already emerging between the quality of sides featuring in this competition. Wellington Blaze and Otago Sparks have both looked brilliant up until now whereas Canterbury Magicians and Northern Districts Women have both failed to live up to the expectations. Both these sides are up for the tricky next few matches.
Up next in the competition, Canterbury Magicians Women are set to take on Central Hinds Women in what will be a clash between the two sides placed in the middle part of the points table. This match, however, could act as a great leveler and that is exactly what both these sides will be looking to do. The match between Dambulla Giants and Jaffna Kings is to be played at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on 10th December 2021.
Canterbury Women are one of the only few sides in the tournament that have played just one match, but they did not manage to do too well in that match. They are coming off a fighting loss and will be looking to make this upcoming match count as far as their campaign is concerned. As it stands currently, they are placed near the bottom of the ladder with zero wins and a poor net run rate.
On paper, Canterbury Magicians Women have a terrific side that may not be in good form but can deal the damage. They were far perfect with execution in the previous match and will be looking to do exactly the opposite in this upcoming fixture too. If their stars are able to play to their potential, they should sail through to their first win in this competition.
Natalie Cox, Abigale Gerken, Amy Satterthwaite, Frances Mackay, Jacinta Savage, Lea Tahuhu, Allie Mace-Cochrane, Kate Sims, Melissa Banks, Jessica Simmons, Sarah Asmussen.
Central Hinds started off with a terrible in their first match and are consequently sitting near the bottom of the ladder with zero points to their name and a decent net run rate. . Not only are they placed in the bottom half of the ladder, they also have a terrible net run rate, which can prove to be crucial if things get tight towards the back-end of the competition.
On paper, the Hinds have a well-balanced unit that has a good number of options in batting and bowling both. Having said that, they do appear to be a tad too over-reliant on their top order as far as s batting is concerned. They would need some support from the lower middle order and if that happens, Central Hinds shouldn't find it too difficult to get back to the winning ways.
Natalie Dodd, Emily Cunningham, Jess Watkin, Ocean Bartlett, Kerry-Anne Tomlinson, Rosemary Mair, Mikaela Greig, Georgia Atkinson, Melissa Hansen, Hannah Rowe, Claudia Green.

These are early days in the tournament and the teams are still settling into the grooves. Central Hinds did manage to get their combination right in the first match, but their execution was well off. This is an important match for both these sides albeit for different reasons. The two sides played with contrasting strategies in their last respective matches and are likely to go out with the same. Comparing the two sides on the basis of team lineup and form, betting on Colombo Stars should be the way to go here.
