The Kandy Warriors pulled off a big upset when they defeated the Dambulla Giants. They also kept themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot, as incredible as that sounds! The Lanka Premier League has five teams right now and only the team that finishes the bottom is going to miss out on the playoffs. A win in this match could take the Kandy Warriors above the Colombo Stars in the standings.
Binura Fernando and Al-Amin were the two best bowlers for the Kandy Warriors in the previous match. Both of them picked up three wickets each but it was also good to see all the other bowlers bowl tightly as well. The Kandy Warriors have struggled to put in decent bowling performances and so bettors should be wary of changing perceptions after just one game.
Kennar Lewis has now scored runs in two consecutive matches and that is a great sign for the Kandy Warriors. He is capable of winning matches on his own and seems to have hit form at just the right now. Charith Asalanka, Ravi Bopara, and Mino Bhanuka are all decent batsmen as well.
It is true that the Warriors have not batted well for the majority of the LPL 2021 season but their lineup does look comparable to the Stars on paper.

The conditions in Colombo should be good for cricket. A bit of rain is always around and we could have some interruptions but the likelihood of the match being washed out completely looks quite thin at the moment. The pitch should continue behaving how it has so far. Flat, slow, and with a little bit of help for the spinners. We think a scoring rate of around 8 runs per over is the minimum that teams batting first will aim for.
