With an important win over Comilla Victorians, Fortune Barishal climbed to the top of the ladder and are now looking to be in the front seat as far as finishing among the top two sides is concerned. The teams placed in the bottom half of the ladder have a huge task up ahead of themselves and will need to make a move hereon.
Up next in the competition, Chattagong Challengers are set to take on Minister Group Dhaka on February 8th, 2022. The match will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium at Sylhet. They just have two matches to go and will need to do not only register wins in both of those matches but also need to improve their net run rate. As it currently stands, they have three wins and five losses from eight matches. They have a total of six points to their name and a net run rate of -0.215. Given their position, it would be imperative for them to improve their net run rate.
Apart from being languishing in the bottom half, they also do not have momentum going for them. In their last three matches, they have no wins to their name and have lost all those matches by substantial margins. They are coming off a rather deflating win at the hands of Comilla Victorians, who chased down the target set by them in just 17th over.
In the last few matches, the Challengers have been dismal in both departments of the game and the lack of experience at their disposal hasn't really helped them. Chattagong Challengers have a rather young side, which does that plenty of talent available, but have a dearth of experienced players. It is high time that they get the ball rolling but with ample experience, bouncing back from three back-to-back defeats is going to be difficult. They will need individual brilliance to take them through in the upcoming match. They have that capability and if their youngsters are able to play to their potential, getting past them is going to be incredibly difficult.

Minister Group Dhaka got off to a win in the tournament but soon lost their way and found themselves languishing near the bottom of the points table. They then bounced back with a couple of back-to-back wins and are now in a decent position to get to the next round. They have three matches to go and will need to register a win at least in a couple of those.
As it currently stands on the points table, Minister Group Dhaka are placed at the third spot with three wins and three losses. One of their matches was washed out due to rain. In total, they have a total of seven points coupled with a decent net run rate of 0.266, which could come in pretty handy if things get tight towards the end of the league stage.
Before their last match was abandoned due to rain, Minister Group Dhaka had a couple of consecutive wins behind them, and just about when they were looking to gather momentum, they hit a roadblock in the form of rain. They will be looking to start from where they left off but it is not going to be easy.
On paper, Dhaka have one of the most explosive sides in the tournament and the presence of experienced players right through the order just adds to their balance. The likes of Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, and Andre Russell can be a threat to any opposition and will not be easy to deal with here. With the on-paper strength that they have, they could really be the team to defeat in the tournament. If they are able to replicate that on the field, beating them is going to be a very tough job.

With the tournament moving to Sylhet for its second leg, we immediately saw that difference in the nature of the surface and the average first innings totals. The surface was a lot more batting friendly and bowlers had to work hard to get wickets. As the tournament progresses, however, we will see the surface getting slower and spinners coming into the action. This is a day game and the team batting second will not have the dew advantage. If anything, chasing might be a bit tough here. For that reason, the team batting first should be happy if they are able to score anything over 160.
