Birmingham Phoenix chased down the highest total of the Hundred 2021 with quite a bit of ease in the previous match. It has three wins from five matches and is in a good position to try and qualify for the Hundred 2021 playoffs. This next match is against the Welsh Fire, a team that has lost its previous three matches.
The loss of Jonny Bairstow for Welsh Fire has been a body blow. Not only have they failed to win a match since he has left but they also have failed to be competitive as well.
There are plenty of value bets to be found in this match as well.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Birmingham Phoenix vs Welsh Fore, the Hundred 2021. The match is going to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on the 9th of August 2021.
Birmingham came into the Hundred 2021 season with one of the best batting lineups in the entire tournament. That was because of the presence of Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali in the lineup who were in great form coming into the Hundred.
During the course of the matches, though, they have found players like Will Smeed and Chris Benjamin who are excellent batsmen as well. The batting line-up looks stronger now even though some of the players have not performed as per expectations.
As a team, Birmingham Phoenix has hit 30 sixes in the Hundred 2021 which is seven more than Welsh Fire. The Most Sixes betting market for this match is one of our favorite ones for this match and we think it would be one where punters can go big to book some profits.
Will Smeed and Liam Livingstone are also very good players to consider for a To Hit A Six betting market considering the frequency with which they clear the field.
Adam Milne is the best bowler in the Birmingham Phoenix lineup. He has taken seven wickets, the most for Birmingham Phoenix, and is also the most economical bowler so far. With Benny Howell, Imran Taihr, Liam Livingstone, and Moeen Ali in the lineup, Birmingham Phoenix has no shortage of bowling talent.
It is definitely a stronger team than Welsh Fire and deserving of its favorite tag in this contest.
Finn Allen, Will Smeed, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Christopher Benjamin, Benny Howell, Miles Hammond, Adam Milne, Thomas Helm, Patrick Brown, Imran Tahir.
Welsh Fire has some good players in its team but it has looked a step below all of the others in the Hundred this season. The batting has just been good enough in terms of consistency, power, or stability. Ben Duckett has the most runs to his name with 203 but his strike rate of 138 is certainly not great for this format.
He also has hit just two sixes in total. Glenn Phillips scored a fifty in the previous match and Leus du Plooy also got some runs but overall, Welsh Fire has not threatened enough with the bat. We really think sending someone like Jimmy Neesham up the order to try and make an impact may not be a bad idea.
In current form, we don't think looking at betting markets for Top Batsman Welsh Fire is a great idea.
You should instead look for Over/Under betting markets and go ‘Under’ on players like Tom Banton, Ian Cockbain, or even Glenn Phillips.
The bowling attack for Welsh Fire is quite weak as well. Qais Ahmad is the only one that can be somewhat relied on to pick up wickets but the others like Luke Fletcher, David Payne, Matt Milnes, and Jimmy Neesham have been too expensive and inconsistent.
Welsh Fire has lost its previous three matches, its players are not really in good form, and the team is up against one of the strongest teams in the Hundred. Things are not looking too good for it right now.
Tom Banton, IA Cockbain, Ben Duckett, GD Phillips, A Leus du Plooy, James Neesham, Graeme White, Qais Ahmad, Luke Fletcher, Matt Milnes, David Payne.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first. All three matches of the HHundred played at Edgbaston have been won by the team chasing so far.

There is a slight chance of showers in Birmingham on match day but nothing that should cause too much disruption. The pitch at Edgbaston has been very good for batting so far and almost 350 runs were scored here in the previous match.
There is no reason to think why it would be any different this time around. This means a lot of fours and sixes, a few fifties, and possibly another match in which more than 300 runs are scored.
All of these are betting markets that can be exploited for this match.
We are going to back Birmingham Phoenix to win this match. The team has won all three of its matches at home so far. It has a stronger batting lineup, more power in its ranks, a better bowling unit, and also better recent form. Everything points towards a victory for Birmingham Phoenix and although there are no sureties, this is as close to one that you will get in the Hundred.
Bet on Birmingham Phoenix to win.
Ian Cockbain has not been in good form so far. He has the best score of 16 and a total of 29 runs in three innings. We think his position at the opening position is just going to add pressure on him. An ‘Under’ bet is the way to go.
This betting market could really pay off in this match. Birmingham has been a good batting venue and Phoenix has one of the strongest teams in the entire Hundred. Just one or two batsmen getting in would be enough to help you win this bet.
