Australia laid down the hammer in the first Ashes 2021-22 Test as it romped its way to a nine-wicket victory. It is understandably the favorite going into the pink ball Test at Adelaide. England is expected to rotate its bowling lineup and is probably going to be a lot different than what we saw in the first Test. Of course, the pink ball itself tends to give a different dimension to the game and that is something to be considered as well.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Australia vs England Ashes 2nd Test 2021. The match is going to be played at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide starting on the 16th of December 2021.
Australia did not put a foot wrong in the first Ashes 2021-22 Test. Pat Cummins picked up five wickets in his first inning as Test Captain, Travis Head smashed a dominant century, and Nathan Lyon found form during the second stint as well. Mitchell Starc, Marnus Labuschagne, and David Warner were the other notable performers for Australia.
Australia is going to be without Josh Hazelwood for this match and that is a pretty big loss. His ability to swing the ball and get movement with the new ball is going to be missed. Jhye Richardson is the bowler that is going to replace him for this match (in all likelihood) and he is another fantastic bowler.
Australia's bowling strength is phenomenal and is still easily capable of picking up 20 wickets. We are going to back Pat Cummins to be the Top Bowler for Australia in this match. He picked up seven wickets in the previous match and showed just why he is considered to be the best bowler in the world.
The batting lineup for Australia is a bit more vulnerable than people might think.
The ball swings in Adelaide under the lights and the Aussie batsmen are going to be tested. Warner, Harris, Smith, Labuschagne, and Head could all find the going a lot tougher in this match. We like Marnus Labuschagne as the pick for 'Top Batsman Australia' in this match. Not only is he in good form with runs in the first match but he is also quite good against the moving delivery.
Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, TM Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Michael Neser, Nathan Michael Lyon, Jhye Richardson.
England will target this Test match as the one that it could win if it plays its absolute best. The pink ball tends to get a lot of movement and that is where the English bowlers excel. James Anderson and Stuart Broad are both set to return for this match and we think Chris Woakes should keep his place as well. With Ben Stokes as the fourth bowler, England has a very skilled bowling attack.
We think you can look at Ben Stokes the bowler and maybe take a punt on him to take 2+ wickets or even back him as the Top Bowler for England. He is very dangerous when the ball starts to swing.
The batting is a huge problem for England. The lineup is just not very good and that is not going to change overnight. Joe Root is in exceptional form but no one else apart from him has been able to make a sustained impact. The opening pair looks vulnerable, the middle order after Root is dismal and there have been too many collapses in recent times.
The batting lineup is so bad that we think you can bet against every single one of them barring Root and still come out a winner.
Rory Burns, Haseeb Hameed, Dawid Malan, JE Root, BA Stokes, Ollie Pope, Jos Buttler, CR Woakes, Ollie Robinson, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. The data shows that there is not too much of an advantage by winning the toss and so don't be swayed by this, no matter what happens.

The conditions in Adelaide have been a bit overcast and there is a bit of rain expected. This could work in favor of England since their bowlers need some swing to be able to trouble the Australian batsmen. As far as the pitch goes, some grass is going to be left on the surface and the bowlers should be able to get a lot of help. There are periods of play where the ball will talk and we could have a fast-moving test on our hands.

We are going to bet on England to win this match. It is a huge risk but we think the returns make it worth it. Australia is very tough to beat at home but if there is one place where England can cause an upset, then it is this match in Adelaide under the lights with the Pink ball. Keep in mind that Australia is probably the superior team right now but that England is a smarter betting option. You should also hedge your bets through the match when you get the chance.
Bet on England to win.
Stuart Broad has a terrific record against David Warner and against left-hander, in general. There is a good chance he could get an early wicket and help you win this bet. The risk is that Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns have looked quite suspect in the two innings they have played so far.
This is a very high-risk bet but the pink new ball can often end up being a nightmare for batsmen and keeps them guessing for a long time after. A small bet on this would make sence since the returns are quite good.
Cummins bowled brilliantly in the first match and is going to be very dangerous in this match as well. With Hazelwood not playing, his role for Australia becomes even bigger and we think he is going to pick up a lot of wickets once more.
