Dazy

April 17, 1995 ~ March 8, 2007

On March 8, 2007, Kathy said good-bye to her precious old girl Dazy.

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free,
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart,
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

“When the time comes, and the road curves ahead to a place we cannot see, we give one final gift and let them run on ahead - young and whole once more. "Godspeed, good friend," we say, until our journey comes full circle and our paths cross again.”  Author unknown
Kathy, she will always be in your heart and memories.

The Eulogy

Look not where I was, for I am not there
My spirit is free, I am everywhere.

In the air that you breathe,
In the sounds that you hear.
Don't cry for me Mom,
My spirit is near.

I'll watch for you, from the other side
I'll be the one running, new friends by my side.

Smile at my memory,
Remember in your heart.
This isn't the end,
It's a brand new start.

Carol Kufner

We send our deepest condolences. We bred and finished her sire "Baby" and we know 1st hand how cool those brindle dogs are. ~ Jack & Kay

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end.
And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree,
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Dear Kathy, don't think of your beautiful striped lady as gone. Think of her as gone on ahead.... until you meet again.    Chantel

Dazy's legacy lives on through her kids, her grand-kids and all her great-grandkids.  A part of her will always be around.  ~ Kim

Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about Dazy! It's never an easy thing to deal with, we've all been there.  Just know that Dazy is having a blast with all our best friends on the other side of the bridge, as they are all waiting for us.  And though it seems forever to us to be reunited with them, to them it will only be a short time. You're in our thoughts and prayers! Kat and Tobi (Dazy grandson)
