REINFORCING AND REDUCING BY TWISTING AND ROTATING THE NEEDLE IN CLINICAL PRACTICE

THE UNDERSTANDING TO THE DEFINITION OF REINFORCING AND REDUCING METHOD BY TWISTING AND ROTATING THE NEEDLE

There are two implications of reinforcing and reducing method by twisting and rotating the needle in recent years. One of them is "to twist the thumb forward as reinforcement; to rotate the thumb backward as reduction". The other is "to twist and rotate the needle with little force and small amplitude as reinforcement; to twist and rotate the needle with great force and large amplitude as reduction". The above definition hadn't the consensus of opinion in the documents of the past ages, so it lacks of the view of capacity and scientific spirit,

Our opinion is to take Renmai and Dumai as the center, looking upon the force direction applied by thumb at the beginning, namely, centripetal force as reinforcement and centrifugal force as reduction. On the other hand, small amplitude and high frequency mean reinforcement within the limits of amplitude to over 1 revolution and frequency to 50-60 times per minute.

SAME ESSENTIAL FACTORS ABOUT THE "CAPACITY" REINFORCING METHOD BY TWISTING AND ROTATING THE NEEDLE

1. The direction of applied force is one of the essential factors of reinforcement and reduction,

2. The degree of applied force is related to reinforcement and reduction directly.

3. The best parameter of operating continued time is related closely with the therapeutic effect. This is also the kernel of the "capacity" of manipulation,

4. The best parameter of continued time is the therapeutic effect after manipulation.

THE CLINICAL EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH

During the treatment of "blood-supply deficiency of arteria basilaris", bronchial asthma and pulseless disease, the reinforcing method with small amplitude and high frequency was taken in the selected points, each point having the manipulation for 1-3 variously. It showed that the blood-supply increased in arteria basilaris and the side of the extremities with pulseless disease, and the amplitude of wave started attenuating after 6 hours however the wheezing sound from the cases of "asthma" disappeared continuously for 3-4 hours. The reinforcing method by twisting and rotating is used to treat ''coronary heart disease", showing that the changes of ECG was consistent with the improvement of clinical symptoms.

During the treatment of "cholelithiasis", "intractable constipation", the reducing method by twisting and rotating the needle with large amplitude and low frequency was taken in the selected points, each point havnig the manipulation for 1 m'nute. The radiograph of cholecystography showed the contraction of gallbladder, the displacement calculus. The effectiveness rate of treating constipation was 95.6%.

The experiment has proved the best parameter of this manipulation is F-3' at each point, and the best parameter of the continued time of therapeutic result is 3-6 hours.
