REGULATE MIDDLE BURNER IN ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT OF EMERGENCYZhong Yanhua (Longnan County Hospital, Jiangxi) Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, it has been suggested that the pathogenesis of many emergencies is related to the abnormalities of the functions of spleen and stomach. Therefore, regulating Middle Burner is a primary principle in the acupuncture treatment of emergency. 20 patients with more than ten kinds of diseases moulding acute abdomen, were sampled randomly from the emergency room of our hospital. According to an overall analytical study of the data gained by the four methods of diagnosis, it was found that all of the patients were related to the abnormality of the function of middle burner. 7 cases of the patients were induced by the spleen and stomach failing to keep on good terms, and 13 cases were induced by pathogenic noxious factors or by pre-disturbance of other internal organs related to the middle burner. The method for regulating Middle Burner have in our emergency clinic: 1) Acupoints chosen: Zhongwan, Neiguan, Zusanii, Sanyinjiao, Fenglong, Pishu, Tian-shu, Hegu. According to the patient's condition, primally for regulating the functions of spleen and stomach, 3-5 acupoints were used each time, and other acupoints were chosen appropriately. 2) Acupuncture was preformed by filiform acupuncture needle, reinforcing and reducing, or moxibustion, according to necessity. In the use of this method, we have treated a drowned patient, with loss of consciousness, convulsion and distension of the abdomen. All of the symptoms and signs were calmed down by acupuncture for two times. An alcoholic poisoned patient, who was comatose suddenly with serious abdominal distention, was recovered by the treatment with the method described above. A patient with biliary calculus, abdominal colic and constipation, through acupuncture treatment of two times, the colic had been remitted, and the bowels moved. A case of esophagus carcinoma with an obstruction in the pharyngoesophagus, after acupuncture, emesis stopped gradually and even could take some food. A patient with dysuria for more than a month, and abdominalgia, because of the repeated catheterization, the urethra was injured with urethra hemorrhage. after acupuncture of two times, could urinate again. Further more, many patients with abnormalities of spleen and stomach, were treated with the method to regulate the Middle Burner, better effects were also obtained |
