MOLES CURED BY ACUPUNCTURE WITH HUO BURNING NEEDLE

Shi Huaitang

(Shanxi Institute of TCM, Taiyuan)

Two hundred cases of pigmented moles and warty had been treated by administering acupuncture with Huo (burning) needle since 1973.

Therapy: Around the mole it was sterilized with the conventional method. The needle was heated to red hot, and then the mole was scalded red with the heated needle continuously. Of the puncturing times, one must refer to the size of the very mole. Scalding of the mole from its center and extended step to its surrounding and pushed the needle to the edge at last. Regarding the depth of insert, it would be appropriated that the pigmented mole could be removed. As the warty mole, one should use the scalding needle puncturing beneath the surface of the skin. The operated locality was not allowed to be washed with water in order to prevent it from infection. If the mole size was large, it was necessary to wrap it with sterilized gauze. The small ones could be cured once for all, so no appliance was needed.

Clinical Observation: Two hundred cases had been treated and all of them were cured and no recurrence. The average ages of the cases were between 10 and 78, and 75 per cent of them covering the ages between 18 and 50.

More than thirty years, the author had cured a lot of diseases with Huo (burning) acupuncture, and occasionally Huo (burning) acupuncture was administered for the cases of wart and clavus, again, scalding pigmented moles and warty moles were tried with Huo (burning) needle, which has obtained successful result.

The principle of the therapy is to scald moles by destroying the mole-tissus. The puncture should started from the point of the mole and extended gradually to its surrounding area without skin hurt and scars.

Heating of the needle: Alcohol lamp was suggested to heat the needle but not in the old traditional way-to heat the needle with the silk moistened with oil, avoiding ash attached to it.

There was an old saying: Huo (burning) acupuncture may be administered to any parts of the body except points on the face. It is said that face is the forbidden area for Huo acupuncture. This had been denied by use. The experience of this treatment of 200 cases have proven that it's superior in treatment. No suture or change of application over the wound was required. Healing up would be early and without local infection.
