CHANGE OF THE SKIN TEMPERATURE ON 585 POINTS WITH MANIPULATION OF EVEN METHOD

In order to know the relative effect of the manipulation of even method, we observed the change of the skin temperature both before and after the manipulation on 585 points in 106 patients. The kinds of diseases includes sequelae of apoplexy, acute bacillary dysentery, disease of biliary tract, peptic ulcer, arthritis, zoster, gastroptosis, hypertrophic lumbar vertebra sciatica etc-

Method:

1. Applying transistorized thermometer, (626-4 type made in Tianjian).

2. Taking room and body temperature and skin temperature on the points before 'needling.

3. Putting the end of receptor of the transistorized thermometer to touch the midpoint of the point without any additional force.

4. After taking temperature, moderate lift-thrust and rotation methods coordinately with an amplitude of about 45 degrees were applied till the patient got a local and endurable soreness.

5. Retaining needles both before and after this lift-thrust and rotation methods for 20 minutes for each point and also taking the skin temperature just at the time of the removal of needles and 5 min,, 10 min. after removal.

Results:

After manipulation on the 585 points, 308 points got raised skin temperature, 163 points got lowered temperature and 114 points no change. The difference of its skin temperature between elevation and falling was over 1 degree for each point which got its temperature changed. Most of them showed this phenomenon just at the time on the removal of needles and also 5 min. after removal when these patients had been retained the needles for 20 min. For the specific points, this change was more prominent generally.
