BLOOD FLOW VARIATION OF LIMBS BY ZIWULIUZHU ACUPUNCTURE MANIPULATIONSun GuoJie, Zhou Anfang, Mao Shusong. Kang Shiying, Liu Yushu, Luo Huiping (Hubei Institute of TCM, Wuhan) In 1982, making use of Ziwuliuzhu acupuncture manipulation( selecting the acupoint based on "five shu points" of twelve meridians matching the "heavenly stems and earthly branches"), we observed and analyzed the variation of blood flow chart of limbs of 53 cases after and before administering this method. The result is as follows: 53 cases were studied, 25 male and 28 female. So far as the age is concerned, the youngest is 10, the oldest 57, an overwhelming majority being 20-40 years. Among these cases there were 14 workers, 9 students and 29 ordinary cadres (including doctors, teachers and laboratory technicians). 24 cases were in good health, 13 inpatients and 16 outpatients. Each case studied was inserted 3 times successively (each time was regarded as a group). We studied the first group by needling on time according to Ziwuliuzhu, the second group by needling the same points, but the time being different, that is, not being at the lime according to Ziwuliuzhu, and the third group by needling acupoints stochastically. We took the second and third groups as the control groups of the first group itself. Six kinds of complete wave forms of Tachogram were recorded more than 10 times for each group before and after needling. In the analysis of the blood flow chart we initially found that there was no evident variation for waves A, C, isthmus B and time OD, while there was evident variation for DO' (diastolic time) for each group before and after needling. The variation of diastolic time for each group before and after needling were: The diastolic time of the first group after needling was longer than that before needling (45 cases, 85%). the diastolic time was equal to that before needling (7 cases, 13%) and the diastolic time after needling was shorter than before and after needling was evident according to statistics. The diastolic time of the second group after needling was longer than before needling (22 cases, 42%). And the diastolic time of the third group after needling was longer than before needling (26 cases, 49%)). In the second and third groups there was no evident variation according to statistics. The study showed that inserting acupoints by Ziwuliuzhu to the blood flow chart of the limbs remains specifity. We initially consider that to a certain extent the theory of Ziwuliuzhu is based on matter. |
