APPLICATION OF GAN ZHI IN HUANG DI NEI JINGYu Haochang (Fourth Engineering Department, Sichuan Sixth Building-architecture Company. Chengdu) This paper makes an exposition on the definition and origin of "Gan-Zhi". "Can" and "Zhi" are characterized by time and directions, and have some qualities of "Yin-Yang" and "Wuxing". Based on the viewpoint of biological clock, the paper discusses the relation between "Gan-Zhi" and the astronomical calendar, the application of "Gan-Zhi" in the theory of "Yunqi", and especially the subordinate relation between "Gan-Zhi" and "Zang Fu", "Jing Luo". Relatively more comprehensively and systematically, the paper discusses the practical application of "Gan-Zhi" in "Huang Di Net Jing" and the value to the biological clock from fifteen aspects, such as the calculation of occurrence; worse and recovery of disease; the significance of keeping in good health timely and the proper timing of treatment, etc. The paper points out that, it must be noticed that in what cases and at what time according to the seasons of "Yin-Yang Calendar", the new acupuncture-therapy is working or forbidden, so as to choose the most favorable chance for preventing and treating diseases. The author believes that in the field of medicine, "Gan-Zhi" relates to medical meteorology biological clock, therapeutics by time, etc. It runs through the fundamentals of traditional Chinese medicine. The importance of studying the biological clock in the traditional Chinese medicine is further shown by its application from "Yin-Yang Wu-Xing" to "Zang-Fu Jing Luo", from astronomical calendar and meteorology to its effect on human bodies and on the transformation and calculation of disease and from keeping in good health to treatment. And it is especially shown by its practical application in acupuncture which is based on time as main condition, such as "Zi Wu Liu Zhu", "Ling Gui Ba Fa", "Fei Teng Fa", etc. The author emphasizes that it is impossible to understand the traditional Chinese medicine with ignorance of 'Gan-Zhi". For the further study of the biological clock which is in accordance with the theory of the traditional Chinese medicine, "Gan-Zhi" may be a new way and may be a set of various biological clocks. |
