ACUPUNCTURE MANIPULATION OF SHAOSHANHUO MOUNTAIN BURNING AND TOUTIANLIANG THE SKY COOLINGZheng kuishan, Xu Hongda, Yang Liande (Gansu College of TCM, Lanzhou) According to the acupuncture manipulations for inducing the sensation of heat or cold, we first used the manipulation of Shaoshanhuo (Mountain Buring) on 41 testees, and then used the manipulation of Toutianliang (the Sky Cooling) in the following day. The variations of skin temperature and the volume of blood vessels were compared in these two groups. An one inch long acupuncture needle 30 for insertion was chosen on one side of Hegu. The whole course from insertion till withdrawal was about one minute. The technique of the manipulation of Shaoshanhuo was to press the point tightly with the left thumb, and to insert the needle into it about 5 fen deep with the right thumb and index, then we waited for the needling sensation, twisting the needle for ward 30 times, with rapid thrusting and slow lifting for 30 times too. The needle pulled out when Shouqi (waiting Qi) appeared. The depth and times of the manipulation of Toutianliang were the same with that of Shaoshanhuo, but with contrary manipulations. The results of experiment showed that when the skin temperature of both Shangyang and isolateral Shaoshang was measured, the skin temperature of Shaoshanhuo group became 1.4-1.9°C higher in average. The cases with elevated temperature over 1°C were 80-70%. The group of Toutianliang became 1.1-1.7°C. The cases with decreased temperature more than 1°C were 80-87%. The volume waves of the testees vessels were recorded when the needle was inserted in the tip of the contralateral ring finger, the changes were also recorded in 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes both before and after inserting the needle. It was found that the volume waves of the Shaoshanhuo group were increased 53.6%, 63.4%, 73%, 65.9%. and 56% respectively and those of the Toutianliang group decreased 48.7%, 41.5%, 48.8%, 56% and 58.5% respectively. All the above results had been treated statistically, and had been proved that there was highly remarkable disparity between the different acupuncture-manipulations (P<0.001). |
