THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO.
The Count of Monte Cristo was the hero of the play. He was not very young. He was handsome and smart. He was very rich and held a high position in the French society. He was always well dressed
.The Count of Monte Cristo had very fine manners. He always talked like a gentleman. He spoke in a polite way. He bowed before the Countess of Morcerf and spoke in a kind way to Albert. He even talked to his enemy in a pleasant way.
The Count of Monte Cristo showed love and sympathy to his friends. He once saved the life of his friend Albert. He wanted to see his friend happy. His friends also loved him.
The Count of Monte Cristo loved the Countess of Morcerf but after her marriage he did not try to get her back. He accepted the challenge boldly when Albert asked him to fight a duel. He told the Countess that in order to save Albert’s life he would kill himself.
The Count of Monte Cristo was revengeful person. He did not forget the wrong done to him in the past. He took revenge from his enemy and disgraced him in public because Morcerf had sent him to the prison by giving false evidence against him. He showed the people that Morcerf was a traitor because he had sold his country’s future to the enemy.
The Count of Monte Cristo was brave man. He was not afraid of death when the Countess of Morcerf requested him not to kill Albert. So he decided to die himself. He was a wise person. He planned his revenge very intelligently. First he came out from the prison, then he traveled and became rich. After that he made inquiries and found out his enemy. He thus showed to the people that Morcerf was a traitor.
The Count of Monte Cristo was a true lover. He loved and respected the Countess of Morcerf. When she came to him to beg for Albert’s life he listened to her calmly and decided not to kill her son. He decided to sacrifices his life for her. This shows his sincerity for his love.
The Count of Monte Cristo was a good shooter and an experienced swordsman. He never missed his aim. Even his enemies praised his qualities. He a man of many qualities.
ALBERT.
Albert was the son of the Count of Morcerf. He was a young man of 20 years of age. He was very brave. When his father was disgraced, he quickly decided to kill the Count of Monte Cristo, who had published charges against his father in the newspaper. He challenged the Count of Monte Cristo to fight a duel with him although he knew that the Count of Monte Cristo was a good shooter. He was ready to sacrifice his life for the honour of his family.
Albert was very emotional. He was very angry when his father was disgraced. He told his mother that it was a matter of family honour and he would kill the man who had disgraced his father. Albert had good moral qualities. When his mother told him about the evil past of his father, he realized that he had done great injustice to the Count of Monte Cristo. He begged pardon from Count of Monte Cristo. This shows that he was a wise man.
Albert was a man of honour. He took the disgrace of his family very seriously. He wanted to defend his family honour by killing his enemy. Albert was an obedient son. He loved his father and mother. He took the disgrace of his father as his own disgrace and wanted to punish his father’s enemy.
Albert was a good friend. All his friends liked him and trusted him. At his request his friend Beauchamp helped him in finding the name of his father’s enemy. Count of Monte Cristo was his good friend and once he saved his life from death. Even marrel who was Monte Cristo’s close friend requested the Monte Cristo not to kill Albert.
Albert was an honest and noble person. He liked justice and that is why he supported the Count of Monte Cristo and apposed his father. In short Albert is a sensitive, courageous and lovable character in the play.
