Passing in/to a round
In a musical round each voice sings one line
of a song.
You can associate a passing sequence to each line, this helps you to remember
the sequence and it's great fun. Below is the music, words and passing sequence
for 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat', which I learned at the European Juggling Convention
in Bremen, 2002. Hopefully it's fairly self explanatory. For example on
the first beat of the bar the juggler singing 'row, row ,row your boat' passes
with the juggler singing 'merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily', and on the fourth
beat the juggler singing 'gently down the stream' passes with the juggler singing
'merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily'. Row, Row, Row Your Boat (4 jugglers) Other musical patterns: Frere Jacques (same passing pattern as Row, Row, Row Your Boat) London's Burning (4 jugglers) A Sailor Went To Sea, Sea, Sea (2 jugglers in unison) |
