[Kindermonument: memorial to the Jewish children killed in WWII]

This memorial of the Jewish children who died in WWII is located at #8 Gaaspstraat, where a Jewish market used to be. (On 3 November 1941, the occupying Germans declared certain markets as Jewish markets. It seems likely that, before then, this was simply a regular open market, probably frequented by many Jews because there were a lot of Jewish refugees in this area at the time.)
Until mid-1940, Miep lived across the street (#25 Gaaspstraat), with her foster family. This is walking distance from the Franks' former apartment.

There is an online tour for the Kindermonument area: in Dutch (pdf). It has some small pictures of other places not seen here.

Also see a small winter photo.
