    Chicago Hitmen (3-1)
Episode 1: (Defeated Philadelphia 52-25) Right now, the Hitmen have to be considered the favorites in this league. Either Philadelphia is terrible or Chicago is the best team Extreme Dodgeball has ever seen. Scoring 52 points in a game while holding the other team to only 25 is an incredible achievement. We didn't see too much of the game but Rob Clyde seems like he may be the rookie of the year. Thirteen kills and three dead man kills is insane. Nobody else impressed but there doesn't seem to be a weak link on the team. Anna Bartsch and Marie Philman were the two best females in the league last year and they certainly didn't slack off this year. In addition, all of the guys seem like they can hold their own. I'm going out on a limb and predicting that the Chicago Hitmen will win the championship this season.

Episode 2: (No Game)

Episode 3: (Defeated Detroit 51-39) Once again the Hitmen dominated. Erik Tillmans had six kills and four catches and Marie Philman had three kills and two catches. Nobody on this team seems like a weak link but we can't know for sure because we haven't even see some of the players play (Kenneth Hughes, KJ Phelps, and Hal Sparks have barely been shown in the highlights).

Episode 4: (Defeated L.A. 62-44) Another game, another blowout for the Hitmen. This time it was the defending champs that were embarrassed. They aren't what they used to be but this confirms the fact that the Hitmen are very good. Rob Clyde had another three dead man kills and Karim Phelps impressed with ten kills and four catches. Anna Bartsch also got going during this game with her four catches. The Hitmen are 3-0 and it is looking more and more like they will be unbeatable.

Episode 5: (Lost to Philadelphia 53-46) The Hitmen finally lost their first game in their rematch against Philadelphia. They played well up (and lead all the way) until that disastrous fourth quarter. Six dead man kills were the reason for the loss. To make this loss even worse, Philly was playing without Jeremiah Trotter who is easily their biggest gun. I still see the Hitmen finishing with a solid record but they are definitely not as unbeatable as I thought.

    Denver Hurlers (2-0)
Episode 1: (Defeated L.A. 42-41) The Hurlers snuck out a win at the last moment against one of the best teams in the league (on paper). I do have concerns however. While nobody (other than celebrity Tara Dakides) is a weak link, Denver doesn't really have a big gun that can take over a game. When Spaz Davis leads your team in kills, that is a problem. Bobby Roe is serviceable but showed this week that he can't lead a team in kills. Spaz Davis is a good defensive player but can barely throw 40 mph. Danno Kingman and Micah Moses are also defensive. The one asset this team has is Adrian Quinius. For some strange reason, he has shown himself to be a clutch player. He wiped out the other team twice, had a big regeneration, and had the game winning kill on the dead man walking. He has a weak throw but it is really tricky. Like Zach mentioned, it seems more like a breaking ball. I think Denver may squeak out a few more wins with their defensive style but I doubt they will place higher than 5th.

Episode 2: (No Game)

Episode 3: (No Game)

Episode 4: (Defeated New York 35-34) After two bye weeks, the Hurlers came back with another narrow victory. The Hurlers have won their two games by a combined total of two points. They were also very lucky to win both those games. Both times their opponents choked in the fourth quarter. I will admit that they come through in the clutch but they really have to pick up their pace in the first three quarters. I will also admit that I was wrong to say that Spaz Davis isn't a #1 option. He has improved his throwing speed from last season and now leads the team with thirteen kills. While they are clearly better than I expected, they don't stand a chance against the Hitmen.

Episode 5: (No Game)

   Detroit Spoilers (0-2)
Episode 1: (No Game)

Episode 2: (Lost to Philadelphia 57-51) I was quite impressed by the Spoilers despite their loss. I didn't really expect much from them since they brought back marginal players like Kimberly Estrada and David Rice. However, the other returning players improved a great deal and the rookies showed that they have game. Adam Ullberg easily improved the most. He had nine kills and four catches in the game. Both Strati Hovartos and Ben Toth had troubles with their throws (they only combined for eight kills) but they played some incredible defense. Jason Caliz picked up for their slacking by killing six players (including three dead man kills). Kerri Walsh is probably one of the better celebrity players but she was hit seven times. Despite the loss, I expect the Spoilers to play .500 ball the rest of the season.

Episode 3: (Lost to Chicago 51-39) The Spoilers were beaten handily by the league favorites this week. This defeat dropped their record to 0-2. I could still see this team make the playoffs but they will once again be out early. They kept way too many so-so players from the old Ink Inc. team. That team always played around .500 ball but never seemed to do anything in the playoffs. I expect the same fate for the Spoilers.

Episode 4: (No Game)

Episode 5: (No Game)

  L.A. Armed Response (0-4)
Episode 1: (Lost to Denver 42-41) Armed Response lost in a heartbreaker to the Hurlers but I think they are the better overall team. They have three big guns that can take a game on their shoulders as well as two defensive assets in Mandy Sommers and the rejuvenated Tanya Fenderbosch. The team is so stacked that All-Star David Benedetto barely ever even had the chance to throw. I wouldn't be shocked if Sebastian Sciotti and Kel Waltrin were #1 & #2 in the league in kills.

Episode 2: (Lost to New York 54-38) The former champs are now 0-2 after they were creamed by New York 54-38. To be fair, New York was probably the favorite coming into the season but that still isn't an excuse for a sixteen point defeat. A team with three big guns should be scoring a lot more than 38 points in a game. Benedetto played slightly better than the previous game but he is still nowhere near the level he played at the last two years. Sebastian Sciotti collapsed after his MVP type performance in the first game. This team is in trouble and I'm starting to doubt whether they will even make the playoffs.

Episode 3: (No Game)

Episode 4: (Lost to Chicago 62-44) I don't know what to say about this team anymore. There is definitely something missing but I can't put my finger on what it is. Animal's sudden drop-off from last season certainly hasn't helped his team but Armed Response should still be winning most of their games. A team blessed with two of the hardest throwers in the league certainly shouldn't be 0-3. They have played the top three teams which could be the reason they are losing. An 0-3 hole is going to be tough to dig out of but I can still see them beating out Detroit and Philadelphia for the final playoff spot.

Episode 5: (Lost to New York 53-30) The losses keep on coming for the Armed Response. The game was only highlighted but I could tell that this team played terrible from the start. They were down by eighteen already in the third quarter and Benedetto made things worse by goofing around for most of the fourth quarter. I don't know if he was trying to make a statement to his team or what, but that was a ridiculous display. Instead of bringing attention to himself, he should have been trying to get his team back into the game.

    New York Bling (3-1)
Episode 1: (No game)

Episode 2: (Defeated L.A. 54-38) Coming into the season, I had the Bling in the championship game. After their first game, I'm happy I did. Tyrone Rush could win games by himself in the previous seasons and he now has an improved group of teammates. Almost everybody on the team throws 50 mph or more. Wade Clark impressed me with his eight kills and seven catches. Portis Hershey had solid numbers. Tyrone Rush was his old self. I can't even see a weak link on this team and I'm standing with my prediction that Bling will make the championship game.

Episode 3: (Defeated Philadelphia in overtime after a 48-48 tie) Bling falls to the #2 team (in my eyes) after their overtime win over Philadelphia. Philadelphia is a decent team but New York should have blown them out. It never should have had to go to overtime. The Bling has been blessed with three big guns (Tyrone Rush, Wade Clark, and Greg Lang) and a solid defensive player (Portis Hershey). They should be winning by more than this. I still expect them to go to the championship game but I now expect them to lose it to Chicago.

Episode 4: (Lost to Denver 35-34) This was easily the Bling's worst game of the season. They really should have blown Denver out of the water. Denver couldn't hit anybody until that fatal fourth period. Despite the loss, I think New York outplayed Denver and will have a better record in the end.

Episode 5: (Defeated L.A. 53-30) The Bling got to feed on the terrible Armed Response this week. The 53-30 victory proved that last week's one point defeat was a fluke. With Chicago faltering this week, I think we have a new favorite. Tyrone Rush is going crazy this year. He already has 40 kills on the season (that is an average of ten a game). If Rush keeps this up, there is no way he shouldn't be MVP of the league.

   Philadelphia Benjamins (2-2)
Episode 1: (Lost to Chicago 52-25) Ouch! A 52-25 loss can never be a good sign. I didn't really expect much from the Benjamins (they only had one returning star) but I didn't expect them to be this bad. Jeremiah Trotter disappointed me. I really thought he would be an All-Star (and maybe even lead the league in kills). Art Spiegel either had a really bad game or he has lost his touch. None of the rookies or other returning players (how did Mia Parler and Lisa Marshall even get a second chance?) showed any talent. I really wouldn't be shocked if Philly failed to win a game this season.

Episode 2: (Defeated Detroit 57-51) I guess I was a little harsh last week. Maybe Phily just had a bad game or something because they really impressed me in their second matchup. Trotter really picked it up from last week. He showed he is a clutch player (six dead man kills is unbelievable) and can get hot really quickly. The only problem with him is that he has a tendency to get hit really early and often. Mia Parler and Chris Bullis both seemed to have improved since last season. Bullis had five kills and a catch (nothing spectacular but a nice addition) and Parler had five catches and two kills. Morgan Hay is a pretty solid rookie but I wasn't impressed with Justin Hill. Also, Art Spiegel is certainly not himself this year (although he had four regenerations this week). I still don't see the Benjamins placing higher than fourth but this was certainly a much better performance.

Episode 3: (Lost to New York 48-48) Philly lost but I'm happy with their performance. New York is the second best team in the league and I didn't even expect the Benjamins to come this close to beating them. I now am almost positive that they will make the playoffs (despite their 1-2 record). L.A. is playing terrible and the Spoilers and Hurlers don't have enough talent.

Episode 4: (No Game)

Episode 5: (Defeated Chicago 53-46) Philly did a good job revenging their embarassing week one loss. They looked a little rough through the first three periods but they really turned it on in the fourth quarter. Six dead man walking kills is insane and was the difference in the game. They did all this without Trotter. Michael Lee subbed in for this game but really didn't do much.
