Console gamers will finally get to play a Battlefield game when Battlefield 2: Modern Combat ships in November. I have recently got a demo version of the game and I am very impressed. If you need a new online shooter this game will be perfect for you.

The demo was online only and only had one map but I quickly got addicted to it. I played the game for at least 5 hours and I had to pull myself away to stop myself from playing it even more.

The gameplay is engaging and very fun. Battlefield 2 is a classic first person shooter with great controls. The controls are simple and work perfectly. The vehicles also control well. The online mode I got to play was the mode where you capture and try to keep certain locations on the map. Teamwork is very important to succeed. If your team doesn't work well together you will live a very short time. There are some very good players online and it will definently take you awhile to become one of the best players on your team. With 24 players on one map games can become very hectic. With so much action you would think there would be a lot of lag. However, in the five hours I played I never encountered any slowdown.

The game is also very immersive. The graphics are beautiful. The vehicles, weapons, buildings, and soldiers look life-like. The one map I played on was so stunning I felt I was really part of the fight. Buildings showed signs of battling and there is so much detail to make it look realistic. The maps are very large to accommodate the 24 players.

The sound in the game is good. There is no background music but the sound effects make up for it. The explosions, vehicles, guns, and every thing else you hear are as realistic as possible.

I know nothing about the single player but I think it will be good enough to supplement the mutiplayer. The multiplayer is obviously the main part of the game. I believe the game will be very good. I think this game is a must for anyone who enjoys online games.
